OMG I’m French and I’ve been following you for a while now, ta partie en français est très bien, continue!

Yo as a french person, your english was on point ! Don't give up !

The flooded line is the old MGR connection to the now demolished Eggborough Power Station

Here's a fun fact from an Eggborough Local that line that's filled with water is the disused line that went to Eggborough Power station and the reason it's Called Whitley Bridge is because well the bridge part is causing of the nearby bridge & apparently when the station was opened Whitley was more popular than Eggborough and it's mad that you've visited my local that was nuts good video

Parts of the Hull Barnsley railway are now under the M62, the tunnels are very dangerous and are collapsing, one of the tunnels is situated in what is now a quarry. Passenger services from this line mostly ended in 1935 with services carrying on to South Howden until 1955.
There is a surviving station at North Cave where the railway lines are still inbedded in the road and South Cave, Drax has a station, goods shed and crossing keepers house still intact. The trackbed can be walked at Eastrington and Springhead, the best section is through the Wolds to the entrance of Sugar Loaf Tunnel. The freight line through Northern Hull to Hulls Eastern docks still survives this used to be where the Cannon Street Station was.

15:50, that railway was used for the Eggborough power station, and for another fun fact, my first job was shovelling coal for Eggborough and Ferrybridge power stations.

I only landed the job after Kellingley colliery took too long to accept my application. Two days after starting at Ferrybridge power station, the colliery got in touch to accept my application, but they were just too late.

North Howden station is a long walk from Howden. South Howden station was on the Hull to Barnsley line and is long gone. A visitor asked a local resident why North Howden station was built so far from the town. The response - it had to be near the railway line.

Broomfleet used to have a 4 line section for the station to allow slow passenger trains to halt while other trains passed.

The reason at Broomfleet that the old platforms are still in place is that that section of tracked used to be 4 track wide. So the current platforms are where the old “fast lines” used to sit in the middle of the 4 tracks.

New point to point video: Howden to Howdon on the Tyne and Wear metro (or vice versa)

As a keen language nerd with a knack for picking up languages who is literally going to be studying Linguistics soon, you've inspired me to maybe put in a bit of Spanish/Dutch/German/Farsi practice into my videos!

As a Selby resident im quite local to alot of these paces as this video was made for they are all VERY ghosted stations

Goole used to have a magnificent old station with waiting rooms that had coal fires in winter, a proper booking office, toilets, and a large W H Smith bookstall. It should have had listed status but it's gone now.

So that was really good french!
And yes "dans" is correct for in x minutes

Well at least these places have railway stations!  Nice part of the world.

Been too Whitley bridge once while exploring during a local bus and truck day. Was strange cause besides from the occasional car going across the crossing they was nothing but just me taking a few pictures of my model buses I bought

Re Broomfleet: it used to be quadrupled, but when it was reduced to double track they added the new platforms rather than keeping the outer platforms in service.

Your first option - wait 40 minutes for a bus or walk an hour-and-a-half - could have been 'Walk as far as you can get in 40 minutes, then get the bus the rest of the way' :D

When I went to ride Whitley Bridge, Hensall, Snaith and Rawcliff branch, it took 2 attempts! The first attempt saw the train cancelled at Hensall and I had to get taxi onwards! The second one made it the whole way to Goole, but not without incident. We hit a large branch/fallen small tree on the way!

I love your videos especially the ones when you’re in my local area of East Yorkshire!
