I went on spinning retreat  with some ladies in Kenton  Ohio. The organiser, my friend, has since passed. Anyway, first night we made name tags with scrap papers and cloths, buttons, old ribbons very much same way you are working with the scraps.
I made mine from old dictionary papers, old lace, and old buttons.
I guess one can call it mixed media name tag.  RIP Deb❤
