Widow's memory shows her as a full Weaver among many others, playing music for Grand Mother Silk. I think it's pretty clear that she's a loyalist who was mutilated by the victorious traitors.

I don't think First Sinner is as malicious as you paint her to be. Her battle isn't in a dream, if it was your tools wouldn't be spent upon waking. I'm guessing she challenged you, because like Phantom and Pinstress, she preferred to die in battle. It could also be a test. With the flying needles, her battle more resembles Grand Mother Silk then it does Widow. She wants to help prepare you, so imitates her fighting style.

We have so many silksong lore youtuber it's incredible

I don’t think first sinner is actually tricking hornet, she just has a higher standard for inheriting her power. Hence why she doesn’t try to kill hornet or escape through her body

I know we all like to joke about Trobio being a knock off Grim fanboy, but his boss battle kinda does emulate parts of the Troupes ritual. A fervent dance, a heated battle that will lead to rebirth? Makes me wonder if maybe our silly actor had a little dream once upon a time. Or maybe a nightmare.

I like the theory that first sinner was imprisoned by the weavers because her knowledge of how they were formed could threaten the idea that all weavers are holy, the religion that keeps the citadel running.

I had a thought about how strong Widow was, and wondered what would it be like to fight her with a mask on and full control of her silk. Then I realized Team Cherry answered that question with First Sinner.

The First Sinner probably looks the way she does, because in the cutscene after her defeat, we see how she was raised from a Pharlid. First models are usually flawed, which may be the reason. Also the fight is, in fact, in a dream, since you see the floor and particle effects clearly change from how it looks at present date. As Hornet binds her, she gets pulled into the past.

To me, the First Sinner's sin was flame.  She spun flame from silk, and flame destroys silk.  Thus she made the anathema out of the very thing that supports the entire ecosystem.  Such power could easily lead to her rising up to be a new ruler.  In some ways, her flame runes allowed other bugs to find a new possibility of escaping silk, which lead to the creation of the cult of fire and their idol they worship.
Likewise, the flames from her runes could of freed her directly from Grandmother Silk's control and silk, and thus lead to her regressing a bit since the pale being could no longer sustain her ascension.  With her fall, her sisters would no longer see her as one of their numbers, and thus seal her away.

Your videos have thus far been more prompt, more descriptive, and more thorough than even Mossbag's. He only beats you out in humor, but I don't think you should shift your tone. Thanks for all of the great work.

48:26 idk if someone corrected this already, but this actually can happen in Act 2. The exact prerequisites are that you need the Conductor's Melody, and need to run into Second Sentinel in hallways a few times. Having the Everbloom lowers the requirement for these though. My assumption is that the fight being locked behind "having run into Second Sentinel multiple times" is done because that's how long it takes for it to see Hornet fight and question if her silk-based abilities come from her being haunted.

anyways I'm loving the video so far, I haven't seen anything from this channel before but I like your commitment to both accuracy and considering lots of different options for interpretations.

I'm leaning towards that the rest of the Rebels felt that First Sinner's behavior and ambition for Weaver supremacy, too wreckless because when they eventually finally subjugated the Monarch, they found that they needed very lesser bug within Pharloom more than ever to accomplish eliminating Grandmother Silk. So they were fine with keeping First Sinner confined within the Slab while they devised new ideas before eventually fleeing.

First Sinner's sin as described on her cell is apostasy; defined as the abandonment of religious belief. Once the weavers built the citadel and began their own religion, bugs began to worship them as holy beings, as seen on the weaver effigies. First Sinner opposed the idea of the divinity of the weavers, which would certainly unite any disagreeing factions to keep her locked away. Such an outspoken voice of opposition could unravel everything they had worked towards.

First sinner was not imprisomed by GMS, she was imprisoned by the other weavers. The slab was only built alongside the citadel, and her rune cage is the golden design of the citadel. The reason could be that (assuming she is Atla) she was a radical who insisted on killing GMS using the snare/eva, not agreeing with the plan of the sleeping seal.

One piece of evidence for her being Atla is the lore tablet in the weavenest. Both the slab fight and the tablet call Pharloom 'accursed'. The fact that she believe the citadel is a web of the weavers naive foundation would make a lot of sense in motivating her creation of the snare, eva and ultimately getting jailed by the others who needed to maintain the song.

Widow is the 12th of the first in the slab. She was a loyalist who was imprisoned and punished by the rebels.

I do have a theory about the First Sinner. I think (due to her awkward, hidden placement in The Slab, the architectural difference from her cell and the rest of the Slab, and the fact that the slab is pretty midularly installed, including literal giant screws being screwed in) the First Sinner was imprisoned here before the slab was built, and it was built on top of her. As for why she was kept here? The Weavers expanded on Silk's worship to create the basis for their political power, and being the children of a Higher Being (albeit one they secretly hate) gave them legitimacy, which the First Sinner threatens with both her knowledge of the truth and her driving, open hate for Silk. It's easier for them to keep her there and keep the truth hidden than set her free and let her destroy what they had built in "worship" of Silk.

"Who single-handently  fights against void" LOL SHE ONLY HAS 1 HAND

31:40 the first sinner's mask has been broken since grandmother silk elevated her from a pharlid, so i think they citadel weavers feared her power

You forgot to mention the fact that the pale stag most likely didn’t exist or at least not like GP remembers proved by Hornets quote, “Myth made real in memory. The creature seemed completely at one with the flora around it. Did it ever truly exist as I have seen it?”  Also it’s my personal head cannon that GP couldn’t remember what his liver looked like which is why in the fight it’s like a ghost 2:00

I think First Sinner's fellow rebels imprisoned her because she was not satisfied with trapping Grand Mother Silk in sleep. First Sinner wanted her dead. I think her fellow rebels believed that this was impossible and that trapping her in sleep was the best they could do. Regardless, First Sinner's rage would not allow her to back down. So, the other weavers had no choice but to subdue and imprison her.

Afterwards, they needed to weave a tale to tell to the layman bugs of Pharloom on why a Weaver was imprisoned in the Slab. So, the Weavers came up with a tale they would never question: the First Sinner was an apostate. A Heretic who denounced their great and holy religion.

The architect you meet says the clockwork sentinels were created "for a night of cog and blade" which along with the similarities in fighting style to the Pintresses, makes me wonder if the clockwork sentinels were created to be trained by and then overthrow/exterminate the Pintresses.
