one of the vets that didnt get ptsd cause he was the one causing them

He left out the part where they wanted to issue him a new rifle when the war first started and he said no. He was so familiar with his old gun he trusted it more.

14:07 In an interview, Simo estimated that he shot that sniper from a distance of 490 meters (5,3 football fields for Americans). Without the scope 🤯

“He became death itself” is the most action movie phrase ever…

It's worth noting, even the Soviets said Simo had at LEAST 503 kills, so...I'd say his stats are accurate.

Fat Electrician also did a video about another finish solider named Aimo Koivunen. He fought the soviets in the Continuation War (Finnish vs Soviets part 2) and spent two weeks tripping out on an accidental meth overdose. He ended up skiing through a camp of invading soviets while tripping out. No source just a rumor I heard once; but I remember hearing how some of the soviets were terrified when Aimo came skiing though while tripping out, and thought it was the ghost of The White Death coming after them. and that is my favorite possible made up story.

In fact Simo is on a game: ""Ragnarok Online is a MMORPG set in a fictional universe of Midgard, where human adventurers travel the world, fight against monsters, and battle each other in wars between guilds called War of Emperium (WoE). Many themes within the game are based on Norse mythology.""
""Shiroi Shinigami
Simo Häyhä is Humanity's representative in the eleventh round of Ragnarok, going against Loki.
Nicknamed "The White Death" (白い死神, Shiroi Shinigami), Häyhä is considered the deadliest sniper in human history, having killed about 500 men during the Winter War that lasted less than 100 days.

Just a few details to add.
1. When they asked him later how did he become so good, he simply replied: "Practice".
2. He said that he never felt anything towards the enemy, he just did what he was told to do and had the Finnish people not do that, there would be no Finland today.
In an interview for a German magazine when he was asked about what he felt when he shot, he replied "The recoil".
3. He always said that he is a lucky men, he always slept well even during the war, never had any nightmares. But in those memoirs he referred to his victims as "My sin list".
4. There were and still are people in Finland who saw him as a simple murderer and besides being honored and respected he also received a lot of hate unfortunately.

I have watched other videos that says Simo actually killed all those 505 - 542 with the rifle, + a couple of hundred with submachine gun so the number of dead enemies is much higher.

Enemy at the Gates

Simo häyhä my goat

What I can say is since their entry into NATO, Finland will never have to fight alone again. Extremely nice to them on our side🎉

Let’s give his grandkid a Medal of Honor.

During winter, only few hours of daylight in the southern Finland and in most northern parts sun does not rise above the horizon for 2 months,,  so yes it's dark, also it was the coldest winter in decades ,,  that Bane quote fits Finnish well xD

Woo! Big holla upload!

As a Finn and someone who adheres to Western values, the Russians don't fight with those values, they don't care about casualties, and many Western people understand that.

Enemy at the gates

I've heard they are making a movie about Simo.

to your question: Simo

He used a Finnish-produced M/28-30 rifle (a variant of Mosin–Nagant) and a Suomi KP/-31 submachine gun. Häyhä is believed to have killed over 542 enemy soldiers Confirmed   in 100 days   during the conflict, the highest number of sniper kills in any major war.   his commander Aarne   got his Terror nickname in the Legion (he is allso worth checking out he was a beast)       White  Death  in Russian    Белая смерть   Belaya smert'     Fins Called him Magic Shooter ..  maaginen ampuja
