A block away from my home an Italian restaurant opened in front of a sushi restaurant. Rather than fight each other, they created combos where you can order sushi and pasta and they share delivery drivers. They also even hand out coupons for the opposite place so you try the other restaurant's food. There's also all those combo pizza hut/taco bell/KFC places. Why do they act like this is a new idea?

how can someone hear the sentence "ai tells me what to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner" and not be absolutely horrified

"This morning, he had been told to eat oatmeal." This guy is trying to speedrun the eradication of free will. Imagine, STRIVING for a world so scheduled that your tastebuds don't even matter. As someone who loves to cook, I hate that today I learned this exists...

Turbo-cheffing a fillet mignon, garnishing it with a bay leaf and packaging it in a plastic to go container already sounds AI generated. Poor cow had to die for this

Why do tech bros desperately want to convince everybody they can’t do things they did easily for their entire lives

Edit: this was a rhetorical question please stop replying with “so they can make money!!!” no shit gee wow

I saw somebody comment elsewhere that AI is essentially tech bros creating a "mom" for them and seeing this....yeah, they're right.

It's like dropshipping for fast food. 20 different "businesses" all selling the same thing.

This is literally the type of crap they serve at the Freddy Fazbear Mega Pizzaplex.

"Wonder" is short for "I wonder if I can get airline food without the hassle of flying?"

the names of these “restaurants” always sound like a college student graphic designer’s portfolio “concept branding”

I must live under a rock, because I've never heard of this place, never seen an ad for it, definitely never received mail for it.  I would NEVER use it, but now I know what to avoid if it ever comes up.

I can't be the only one who thinks that the "restaurant" names they made up sound like something you'd see in cities skylines when you randomly click on a commercial building and look at what store it is

Just watch kitchen nightmares, having a giant menu is usually a sign of an unexeperienced kitchen staff be given way too much work

the reason there are no stoves or ovens, is because you need a proper restaraunt license and it also requires a different, higher, OSHA and FDA standard. So not only does it taste reheated because it is, youre also at a higher risk of getring sick because the hygeine standards are vastly different.

"AI's choosing what meals I eat", dystopia has arrived as a subscription plan!

Wonder is literally just a giant, VC-funded microwave for Sysco packages

One cow has 500g of filet mignon level meat. Cooking it in factory and then reheating to produce the middest of meals feels like crime against food to me.

tech startups keep attempting do do something “never before” and end up making a shittier version of the Automat from a full century ago

My dad was a chef for probably like 3 decades and knows how the restaurant business works.  He always said to be wary of restaurants that try to serve multiple different types of food rather one as quality will probably start to suffer with multiple types of food.  That was my first thought with wonder.  Unless they have a giant building, there’s no way they can cook all these different foods with quality

Wonder, the billion dollar Sysco reheating franchise.
