After a show in 1977
I asked Emmylou to marry me
She of course said no ,
I was devastated ,
I was only 9 years old.
I eventually got over it. ❤

Her performances with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt, collectively known as Trio, are gold.

This is one of the best bands ever assembled.ever.

She's wonderful. And still performing. Always had great musicians.

You have started down an amazing rabbit hole. Every song by her is beautiful. My person favorite song by her is Boulder to Birmingham, which she wrote after the death of Gram Parsons. That song will bring a tear to the eye of anyone.  EmmyLou is also known for her ability to sing harmony. Check out anything by the group "The Trio", which was her with Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton. Another song with her singing harmony is her, with another song writer, Iris Dement, sining a song by Iris, "Our Town", which you could do as reaction to Iris as a songwriter, and get to enjoy the subtle contributions of EmmyLou as a bonus.

Emmylou could sing names from a phone book and it would be beautiful.

Just imagine having them as your band? Then being able to sing absolutely perfectly without Auto tune ?  Absolutely amazing musicians  and worthy of true respect

Emmylou Harris:  Country Music Royalty

Everything about Emmylou is angelic.

Albert Lee is LEGENDARY!!!!
And Emmy Lou Harris is mesmerizing

What a gorgeous, heart-rending voice.  This was a time when her voice and her physical appearance were beautiful beyond compare.

Gram Parsons, if you don't know him, is the next step

Rodney Crowell is a songwriter that's overlooked in my book. He's written mega hits and was Johnny Cashs' son in law.

I can relate to this .. lived in Tulsa  for 3 years .. her voice is incredible ❤

It skunds like there ate two steel guitars but there is only one. Albert Lee is one of the greats.

"goodbye" and "Boulder to Birmingham"  are good ones

Emmy has been my companion for 50 years. In my car through the 1970's & 80's, blasting down the Great Ocean Road in my Torana, listening to her singing Luxury Liner, Tulsa Queen, Amarillo - how I never got busted for speeding I'll never know! I've sung with her in my car, in the shower, in my garage - I've never tired of her music. Perhaps my favourite album she recorded is The Ballad of Sally Rose (which, curiously, was never a big hit for her).

Her voice will cut right through your heart.

That ‘riff through the whole thing’ is the rhythm of the train.  Coming from a distance, louder as it approaches, then fading into the distance.

tulsa queen was a train , i think it went to port of catoosa
