I’m really glad As Above, So Below is getting a cult following. I thought it was a good film and I admire that they actually filmed in Paris

I live in the town that frogman was filmed in and every time we pass by the hotel from the movie me and my friends say smth like "Don't go in there bro that's where frogman lives."

loved the isopod cameo . the fact that todd has a terrarium makes perfect sense somehow. just a terrarium lookin guy.

Saw The Bay in the thumbnail & it triggered the memory of a younger me avoiding showering for 3 days after watching it…

The best thing about "Host" is that it's based off a prank the director did. Rob Savage (director of Host) set up a zoom call during lockdown, where he scared his friends.

He started by telling them by saying he was hearing weird noises in his attic, then as he went up to investigate, he cut his webcam to a video of a zombie jumping at the screen. He then cut back to his webcam as it fell out of the attic, making it look like got attacked.

Imagine going into the woods and seeing a frog man. he cuts off your arm, and then he surgically attaches himself to your stub and declares "I am your new arm"  wild shit, isopods are scary

I went into As Above So Below with loooooow expectations but as it went I was so hooked. I loved it so much!

the Hell House sequels are SO scary, they lean even more into the background details/scares. i found myself staring at ANY open space behind the characters and one genuinely creeps me out to think about bc it took me a solid 15 seconds to notice her

The Bay sounds absolutely horrific… I get goosebumps just thinking about it. I have mild trypophobia and it gave me the same kind of ick, so tread carefully watching that segment if you have it too.

the taking of deborah logan, cloverfield, lake mungo and the bay are without a doubt my favourite horror films

Rec - Spanish zombie found footage (one of the best ever made)
Willow Creek - Low budget Bigfoot film (very fun)
Butterfly Kisses - genuinely one of my favorite horror movies (fully on YouTube)
Savageland - a found footage horror mokumentary done in pictures (really good)
Jeruzalem - hard to explain but trust me you’ll love it (Tubi)

I'll be honest, Chronicle might be my actual favorite found footage film. Sooo underrated and i think it would be great to check out in another video

The Borderlands is one of my favorite horror movies! The chemistry between the cast, the unraveling of the terrible mystery, the eerie blink and you miss it creepiness throughout. It’s just perfect!

My two found footage horror movie recommendations would definitely be REC and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum. Gonjiam is technically being livestreamed but it's a brilliant movie and I watch it every year because it's so fun. Fun fact, the characters in the movie actually use their real names in it and it's actually based off of a real haunted asylum in Gwangju-si. REC is a really cool concept I don't really want to spoil anything, it's an experience and I think the concept is really interesting.

The bay was a random movie my family rented and it was so good it’s well filmed and looks quite realistic love it

You might want to check out Grave Encounters - it's a found footage movie that follows the cast and crew of a ghost hunting show. To me, it's cheesy in all the right ways, and it's also sufficiently creepy when it wants to be

in hell house, there was supposed to be a whole subplot of them going broke and how this haunted house was supposed to save them financially but ironically it got cut out. that’s why there’s a random scene of one of the guys sitting in the grass being depressed, and why they push so hard for it to open

As both an isopod owner myself (Hi Humphrey, I love you) and someone who's always been interested in weird arthropods, I immediately went to find The Bay after the video to watch it. Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting much considering the type of film but Todd is right; it was pretty well done for being a 'lower budget' film and I actually really enjoyed it. If you can suspend your disbelief that the little guys can become vicious, fast-acting man-eaters, it's well worth the watch. Thanks for spreading the recommendation!

It would be cool to see you watch a Godzilla movie from every era of Godzilla's history to see how the vibe was always changing to try to fit whatever audience they thought they had.

imo, found footage is such a flexible concept that can be done in so many ways. i think a lot of people associate found footage with blair witch or as above so below, but i agree that skype calls and other types of media should be included in the genre. like i LOVED the movie Spree with Joe Keery, it's made up of mostly livestream footage since the main guy is obsessed with going viral. there's a lot of different ways to show "footage" that aren't a shaky camera in a dark space
