Guys i actually can't think of any right now, what do I doooo. PLEASE DONT HURT ME. Like I can see the scene in my head. And it's happened so many times, BUT I CAN'T THINK OF ANY NAMES. If anyone knows any comment it! If i've watched it, and know it happens, I'll update the list

no REAL the c-drama/historical k-drama miscommunication trope drives me crazy every 5-10 episodes the main leads have to clear up a conflict between them that wasn't even real just cause they overheard a conversation from some randoms ...like come on now we have already been through this😑...

I’m so sick of one of the leads overhearing something outside the door or in an elevator and now you don’t confess. Like you don’t ask the person directly or don’t try to find out the truth yourself and now you look like a fool crying and throwing up when the other mc is confused and really loves you.

3:40 FINALLY SOMEONE FUCKING SAID IT
It truly is a waste of time because regardless of whatever happens you know who the 1st ML is and that he's endgame so the 2nd ML is a see through obstacle in the way of an obvious destination.

18:58 - the most egregious example of this trope is Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Nothing in the promotional materials, posters reviews or numerous edits told me the most terrifying man in the world’s scariest mask was going to come in and haunt the plot. It was literally all goofs and gags until that jump scare.

Other annoying tropes :
- we are finally good together but one lost their memory after an accident
- i cant be with you because i want to protect you and for you to give up i am going to be a jerk to you and destroy your self esteem
- FM with no personality, she is average in every aspect of her life, she is not fun to be around sometimes even rude but 2 awesome ML will fight over her. Why?
- i have a super power or a disability but for an unknown reason it does not apply to the other lead (i can see the future but not yours, i cant see faces but yours I can) SO overdone and couples lack chemistry a lot

Childhood Connection trope is so funny because I don't even remember the people from my high school lmao. Wouldn't even remember my best Friends from childhood

I HATE the sudden murderer trope !! It never goes along with the main story. The producers should shorten the series and not drag them just for the purpose of dragging them

3:46 OMG, I ALSO DESPISE LOVE TRIANGLES! There's a whole lotta angst for literally no reason.

I think Queen of Tears does the rich female lead vs poor male lead extremely well.

The last two episodes of when the phone rings literally ruined the entire drama for me bc why did we have to go there 😭

maturing is understanding that boys over flowers was toxic affff but i would eat it up every time😭 (im sorry)

i hate enemies to lovers with a passion because what u mean you're all of a sudden down bad for a boy who's been abusing/making fun of you for literal years bc he did one small act of kindness like how does that magically erase what he did in the past!? but give me rivals to lovers and i'll eat it up every time because i love if there's like a competitive nature to it and they have banter and then one of them realises their feelings etc etc

Yup girl I thought you were talking about when the phone rings for the "they hear something or see something and give up last minute before confessing/being happy w/the othe rlead" cuz lol that last episode of wtpr messed it up so hard for a bit it was almost a joke

The only thing that would've made this better would be photos of dramas fitting the tropes. Helps when looking for recommendations with our favorite trope

Summer Strike is such a beautiful drama to me though 😭. It was the first one I watched where I was locked in the entire time. Every time I watch a kdrama there’s always a section of 2-3 episodes where I’m literally bored out of my mind. But I got through Summer Strike in like 2 days. The two main leads were just so sweet to me.

One other thing i’ve noticed with kdramas, and this has happened with like dramas from before 2020, and it still happens with some dramas:
If the show is 16 episodes, the lead or some important character ends up in the hospital from a serious accident or injury in episode 10 or 13.

Idk how i noticed this, or if this is even considered a trope. But it’s interesting that like clockwork, it’s most generally either of those 2 episodes that it happens.

I personally go crazy for friends to lovers, because the best relationships are built on genuinely liking and trusting the other person (especially when paired with a good slow burn)

the random murder plot pisses me off so damn bad (sorry but lovely runner...) like in the best case it adds nothing to the story and like every time im watching a kdrama and i hear the suspenseful music for the first time i just sigh
