Peter sounded more upset about Black Cat stealing the statue than the random building blowing up that made him miss MJ's show :face-pink-tears:🤣

It's a testament to this title how the formula for a Spider-Man game has barely changed after 20 years.

"My balloooooon!"

Still a great game and the last one where they actually let you go to the Statue of Liberty. such a shame no other Spider-Man games put that back in there.

Mysterio ? I think i had a bowl of mysterios for the breakfast.
Don't try to run into my fist with your face.

Memories

Not gonna lie...I enjoy Tobey's voice acting in these games because it just fits the silver age charm of the comics and movies.  And his bad jokes are great too.

this game was so peak back in the 2000's man, everything about it is why who i am today

Still until this day one of the best Spider-Man game of all time.

We need a remake of this masterpiece

I love how Mysterio’s final illusion is his triple health bar, only to be a punch chump

I am gonna play this game 3rd time on my ps2 , and it's been only 2 months since I last played it . Spider-Man 2 is my comfort game for ps2 all time ❤

They should maintain this Spider-Man 2 combat and game engine in Spider-Man 3 PS2

Ironically, this game is still technologically impressive when you learn that Insomniac's games have auto guided swinging if you let go of the thumbstick and stop moving. In this game? You hang there. In Insomniac's games? It slowly pushes you around the building.

The idea of the Shocker having henchmen is funny to me

5:14 I’m Spider-Reflex’s biggest shooter and I’ve never seen a review bring this up before, so I’ll just say it here.

You can activate it at any time. Not just during combat as I mostly see it used. This is much more useful than it might sound on the surface because of how intricate the swinging is (especially at low FPS, you may end up skipping over the frame where you could’ve swung safely). You can do so many otherwise impossibly precise movements and techniques with it. It even slows down timers for races and pizza deliveries which is undoubtedly an intended feature that I think could’ve made those impossible otherwise. It adds even more depth to the game’s traversal we haven’t seen touched since. I want to add that it recharges very fast if you swing fast enough so you can really spam it. In a lot of ways it’s like a proto-web rush that’s actually fun to use and I really wish it was in other spidey games.

My favorite memory with this was when I discovered a lot of these features it had in my attempts to do the pizza missions years ago. I was about to fail to return the bag in time, but I panickedly hit the reflex button, slowing down time. I did the run-dive into the back door of Joe’s Pizza, and as I fell towards it, a civilian yelled, slowed down, “SPIDER-MAAAAAAN…. YOUUUU THE MAAAAANNNN” and I got it with less than a half second to go. Most hype shit ever and I never forgot about this tech after

Tobeys line delivery honestly aged like Fine Wine
Its literal perfection lmao I can listen to it all day

Played this game all the time on my GameCube when I was little. Still one of the most innovative games ever with its swinging mechanics and open world map. Crazy to think that this game is still the blueprint for future Spider-man games

I forgot how good this game was! I am buying it again!

The swing mechanics on this are 1000x better than the current PS5 games. The new ones feel so clunky and hard to move. This PS2 game was smooth!
