Buckle up, because we are going on a 50-year journey through Tokusatsu history! Today I’m reacting to "All Super Sentai Openings (1975-2025)." From the show that started it all, *Himitsu Sentai Gorenger*, all the way to the 50th-anniversary milestone of *No.1 Sentai Gozyuger*, we are watching how this legendary franchise has evolved. We’re talking classic disco beats, 90s rock anthems, and the modern J-Pop bangers that define the Sentai sound. Let’s see which opening reigns supreme!

They’re still called Rangers in Sentai. The first show was called Goranger after all.

1:30:16 Fun Fact: the ranger that trips in that sequence changed with each episode

It's so weird seeing the ops with clean visuals. I'm too used to seeing reactions with the version from the "Grown-Ups in Spandex" fansub team xD.

Interesting fact: some Super Sentai actors have met the actors who play their Power Rangers counterparts, however, in the series themselves, no Super Sentai character has ever met a Power Rangers character, except for a series called "The Unofficial Sentai: Akibaranged", where the main characters meet a parody version of the Power Rangers, called "The Powerful Rangers"

39:47 They used this season for the Alien Rangers. To this day I still say "how the f#$& do you get fish from Ninjas?!"

@alexandredacunha7733 7 months ago

16:27 Dyna Black, the Black Ranger, he is a ninja, that's why he climbs trees and emerges from underground—those are ninja moves.

24:17 Ranger is also correct in Gokaiger they have Ranger Keys not Sentai Keys or Warrior Keys

From one fan to another, I, who watched all the Super Sentai and Power Rangers series, am happy to see that many people don't have empty heads to spend their comments complaining that Super Sentai copied Power Rangers, something that is impossible given the release dates. People can appreciate both series without constantly comparing and complaining. Super Sentai, Power Rangers, Kamen Riders, Ultraman, and Metal Heroes like Jiraiya and Jaspion each have their own special and unique charms that make them magical for binge-watching.

1:27:16 This voice actor also does the voice for the transformation devices in that season. He shows up later on in the show and does a one time transformation (he's the legacy purple ranger, passes it down). He announces himself in the crazy voice and everything, best transformation scene of the season.

Two interesting facts about Go Go Five: there is no Titanium Ranger in Go Go Five; it's exclusive to the Light Speed Rescue adaptation. Also, all the members of the Go Go Five team are siblings, and the man who gave them their powers is their father, the old man who appears in the opening credits. And another interesting fact about Five Man and Magi Rangers: they are also a team of siblings. In the later seasons of Magi Rangers, their parents also join the team. The only one who isn't related to them is the Gold Ranger, who eventually marries the Blue Ranger.

As someone that has rewatched most of Power Rangers over the last year or two (at least seasons between Mighty Morphin' to RPM I haven't touched the Neo Saban era of seasons since they were aired) I have been very fascinated with Super Sentai and have been wanting to actually get into it sooner or later so this video must be a clear sign XD

Something I think not a lot of people know about when listening to Super Sentai intros for the first time:

The guy who sung the intro to Maskman and Jetman (Hironobu Kageyama) also sang both of Dragon Ball Z's intros

1:50:44 if this man is alive still; hes a legend forreal; 50 years of Super Sentai

@alexandredacunha7733 7 months ago

14:31 That's because both the Red Rangers from Denziman and Dynaman practice various sports, including boxing and kendo.

There’s a particular instrument that only existed in the 70’s, was used in every theme song and discarded after that decade.

It's ok, as an old school Sentai fan I'm pretty much used to PR fans saying PR terms esp. if that's all you know. There was time when I hear the word "Zord" I get a headache. Now I'm pretty much numb to it when it comes from fairly respectful PR fans.

@FaytLinegod 7 months ago (edited)

The "Zords" at 34:42 are known as the Shogozyu or Protector Beasts. They're actually living beings and their combined form, Daizyujin is an avatar of the gods. Zyuranger is the first sentai to introduce the concept of living mecha and actually split the genre into two categories--technological and supernatural. Supernatural themed sentai almost always have living machines, while Go-Onger is the first tech series to have them.
