A simple strap added to the no sleeve side of the one sleeve top would fix the bra issue and still look cute with the one long flowy sleeve and asymmetry.

I just love that your "comfy" is evolving into "super stylish and somewhat daring, but comfy" The magic of making your own clothing.

Literally pin a note to the hanger for the tie dyed jumpsuit: "I like this when I'm wearing it."

I think there’s a 4th thing people consider when dressing( or should) which is Appropriateness for what they’re doing that day. Hanging around the house, messy clothes ok. Going to work, gotta loop presentable.
Also this video makes me really want to use one of the fun animal prints I have.

I really like these videos, I feel like youtube has a distinct lack of "cosy casual sewing" videos, so I always appreciate when you come out with one.

"rectangles sewn together at the shoulders and up the sides" was the basic garment of ancient Greece (called a 'chiton'), and it inspired a lot of the fashion of the 1920s, with the "shapely" aspect added by a belt... making it out of a knit probably makes it a lot more suited to a lot more body shapes. It looks amazing.

The pineapple dress is GORGEOUS

I think you'd love an exploration of ancient Greek/Roman clothing. It's all rectangles! And some of the dresses work very well as modern dresses too.

Figuring out what you ACTUALLY like to wear is a game changer!! 🎉

Add the pockets - you won't reach for it as much if you don't! Also the whole "do I like this garment?" and then putting it on and going "oh yeah I actually love it, I almost forgot" is SO REAL. My mom refers to this as whether a garment has "hanger appeal" lol.

I lowkey love the 90-degree rotation of the stripes in the side panels of the comfy pants! It creates this optical illusion that gives my brain good tingles. (Acknowledging that that sounds kind of weird. But it’s also true, so I’m going with it 😅)

I love seeing people making things they’re excited about, even (and especially) when they’re not exactly to MY taste. Diversity in thought and experience is beautiful, and tbh we need to relearn that sometimes.

Oh, and for whatever it’s worth: I think everything you made looks great—mostly because it looks like YOU. Or at least, the part of you that you show us. And that’s kind of the point, isn’t it? Figuring out what you love and reflecting that.

But especially those pants ❤

4:51 adult diaper 😂.  I made one based on your first video, and absolutely love it. I mostly wear it as a warmup to ballet classes, and I call it my baby sleep sack 🤣. 10/10 cozy.

I can't believe how much I like the striped pants!  I think the vertical, horizontal was genius!

you should add a photo of yourself wearing the garments you forget you love so that you can see yourself wearing it and remember you DO love it. incredibly fun work as always! i looooove the 70s jumpsuit!!!

Instead of twill tape in the straps you could add a sturdy piece of elastic.  It will allow some stretch but will recover much more readily and hold up the weight of the garment better.

Charlie, I really enjoyed your thoughts on how we choose how to dress. For me, I think it's mostly comfort, medical needs (not the same as comfort for me), and self expression. I genuinely do not care what is or isn't in fashion. It only dictates what fast fashion items are available to me. I also don't really care if something flatters my body. As an artist, my clothing is just a part of my artistic self expression. For me, worrying about what others think is flattering on me or what they think is fashionable is simply giving someone else too much power over my choices. As a disabled person, I have to wear clothes that accommodate my medical issues even if that's not how I would choose to express myself, if it's not really comfortable, and if that makes me not fashionable. The irony is that I love fashion (clothes and clothing styles of all kinds), but ever since I was a little kid, I thought fashion (the social pressure to keep up with changing clothing preferences of the in group) was silly. Regarding fashions, in high school, back in the mid 90s, I was teased mercilessly for wearing a pair of high heels with a pair of jeans. A decade later, that combo was everywhere. I just don't have the patience for the nonsense. Life is short. Life is hard. People should be able wear what they want!

7:14 maybe next time try adding some elastic inside instead of twill. It’ll provide some structure without removing all the stretch.

personally I have a 4th category when dressing, which is "Is it green?" because i wear non green clothing significantly less.

It never fails that your sewing videos, maybe all the videos, inspire me to create. I want to hop on my machine so bad and sew right now. 😂 Love all the pieces! I definitely dress for comfort. It helps that some of it is flattering.

For the one shoulder top, I suppose you could just make it again but with the other sleeve and make a cross top.  Then it could be worn more often.

I used to dress a lot more for style years ago, but my health tanked, my skin got more sensitive, and suddenly I cared a whole lot about fiber content and if I could sleep in it.  Because everything is pajamas if you never get out of bed.  Now comfort is king.  I've been sewing a lot more lately because it's so much easier than buying things that are cute, comfy, and the right fabric.  I also care a lot more about adjustability, my thyroid has been trouble these past few years.  (Adjustability is how I found this channel.  Yay skirts that always fit!)  That's a lot of expectations for any company whose goals are "is it cheap and will it sell", which is why it just became impossible.
