Beautiful

Good video,very informative.

Cold pressed linseed oil will give an original finish like they did in the 1930’s-40’s. I would recommend using Hopes tung oil on the interior of the furniture, it’s much more sealing and moisture and heat resistant than linseed oil.

It's perfectly normal to have to grease the enbloc clip rails in the receiver.  Even my well worn harvester is hard to insert some new enblocs.  Just an issue with the new enbloc clips themselves.   I prefer AG7 marked ammo garand clips.  They are in spec and go in smoothly.

First time M1 owners should purchase a complete set of butt stock trap tools, a good supplier is Ammo Garand, among others.

A little "Never-Seez" goes a long way on the threads of the gas cylinder lock screw.

First! Also, give us more vids whoever you are. 😉

Good video....I have my CMP Garand but have not made a range trip.  I did inspect the trigger group and gas plug  and so far seems correct.  My experience with the Garand was from hogging my friends every time we went to the range. Time for to learn so I did appreciate the video.

They should replace or repair the trigger group for you. They sent me a free shipping label when I had to send mine back for the op rod to be replaced a couple years ago. They wanted the complete gun so they could test fire it before returning it.

Wow! You bought a new one and had those problems? That’s not good!

I might expect some teething issues on a new intro gun, but a $2000 gun from CMP (actually Heritage Arms/ Taurus I'd expect CMP would have sent a shipping label forthwith.

I highly recommend Tom's 1/3 Military gunstock wax for these M1 Garands from the CMP, I actually coated all my US Milsurps with the stuff, does a great job in preserving your rifle stocks.

Beautiful... But yeah, for that kinda $$$, should've been right!

7:44 that front end doesn’t look right. Dimensions were definitely changed a little

It would be totally irresponsible for the CMP armorers to assemble a rifle without properly lubricating the internal components as well as the easy-to-reach external areas. They should assume the buyer is a new gun owner and not aware of the M1 rifle's very important lubrication requirements and that that same buyer will be very anxious to take the rifle to the range. I've seen CMP M1 unboxing videos and the op rod channel and bolt lugs looked bone-dry. Grease, heavy grease.

Really looking at picking one of these up in a month or so. Hopefully they've refined them a bit more and have made some changes based on feedback.

Springfield Armory puts the same raw stocks on their M1A’s.  I don’t know how the Garand or M14 were issued, my guess is raw and that’s why the rebuilds and new rifles come that way.

Who makes the bolt?

Too bad they can't get all of those Garands out of South Korea.

You should have sent it back to have it fixed.
