Anti war song, you are correct. Senators and Congressmen's sons did not get drafted into Vietnam, no millionaires sons..

I was an unfortunate son.  Two back to back tours 64/66.  I was crazy back then and as a result I'm still crazy now.

Someone once said Vietnam is the only war with it's own soundtrack , for an anti-war song it's #1. CCR kicks ass 💯

I was a fortunate son.  Had a student deferment for college during Vietnam.  Too many of my brothers got drafted and did tours of duty in Southeast Asia.  Many came back fundamentally changed.  One friend did not come back at all.  Peace to all who served.  Peace to all of us who protested that war.

CCR doesn't have a bad song, I love their music.

I never understood all the Vietnam protest songs, but I’m about to finish the new Netflix documentary on Vietnam and now I get it.

Viet Nam was the last American conflict that had the draft (the first was the Civil War).   College kids were exempt, so you'd get drafted if you were poor or working class.  John Fogerty wrote this song about being drafted himself,  and wrote "Looking Out My Back Door" about when his time in the military was up.

Everybody calls them CCR for short because Creedence Clearwater Revival is a mouthful butt hands down one of the greatest bands ever❤

John Fogerty is an incredible songwriter. CCR put out “Proud Mary,” a great song, and Ike and Tina Turner later covered it for a huge hit.

The song you need to hear is from the 60's-70's and it applies today. Buffalo Springfield, FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH

There were no music videos when this song was  released

Well guys I’m a 65 year old hippie from the South have seen them 3 times. Awesome band. Thanks for checking them out.

CCR Born on the Bayou 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Real musicians playing instruments. ⚡️

The band name Creedence Clearwater Revival came from a combination of three influences: a friend of Tom Fogerty named Credence Newball (who was later shortened to Creedence), a "clear water" phrase from an Olympia beer commercial, and the band's return from a hiatus, which was seen as a "revival".  Peace out.

One of the many protest songs regarding the war in Viet Nam. Fortunate Son shows it's who you are and who you know, to be a priveledged individual. The lyrics, music and John Fogerty's voice emphasize that message.

I've never seen the newer music video and I like how they made it represent how timeless the song is even without the present conflict and discussion of the Vietnam war. As long as we step into wars and send our brothers and sisters into them like pawns, this song will still ring it's message.

This song should be played today after everything that's going on

Im Australian and when I here this song my head screams AMERICA 🇺🇸 ❤

John Fogerty just turned 80 and still touring. Still amazing!  Saw him last September. On Fire still!❤
