The actors who played Dunk's horses were really convincing!

Lyonel was saying humans didn’t invent jousting…. Because stags did.

the horses were at the tree. Egg took care of the horses. He would have recognized them.

I like the cozier vibe of the first episode, I know shit will hit the fan eventually but it's kinda nice to see people just...existing in the thrones world. No royal political intrigue no war just people doing stuff. The explosive diarrhea was....pretty unnecessary though. I simply adore Egg

I already love this show. I love how reletable and humble Dunc is. "Why must you mock me, I was only asking for help" and "I dont know the words" hit me deep. Just your average guy trying his best to pay the goddamn bills, nothing fancy about it, just trying to see tomorrow with a full belly and dry clothes. I'm on your team, Dunc.

When something is stolen an item is considered “hot.” A stolen pie. George you genius

I dont think its a plot hole that Egg found Dunks camp. Egg knew from the inn that Dunk would rather sleep outside than pay for a room, so its a safe bet he’d do the same at Ashford. Plus Egg would recognize that Dunk was poor and likely couldnt get a pavilion anyway. All he had to do was look around the perimeter of the tourney and find Dunks horses, which he had plenty of tome to do presumably since Dunk got back late. which he would recognize since he just cared for all three of them the night before.

14:59 My theory is that the TRUE pie thief in this scene is actually Azor Ahai. The salt of the widow woman’s tears, the smoke of the cook fire that made the pie……the signs are there people!

If the drunk guy put a gold dragon on the table that’s 210 silver tags, or 11,000 copper pennies. Biggest tip of her life lol

They got Kermit Tully on the banjo for the soundtrack

This show makes me realize they barely ever set camera in the street view in other stories. Most of the time, it's either a wide shot of a grand setting, or a close up.
Getting to walk beside Dunk on the road and into the tourney feels almost like going on a D&D adventure.

I enjoy the scene where Lionel is "threatening" Dunk, him saying "a man is either here to threaten me or flatter me" is a lens he has because of his class.

Nobles are so far removed from the basic struggles of the common folk (FOOD, shelter, etc) that they make up their own irrational reasons to test eachother. Its another nod to the theme of "when the high lords play their game of thrones, the smallfolk pay in blood".

Fun fact: The diarrhea at the beginning of the episode was caused by the same amoeba from which Daenerys suffered in the books.

Lyonel looks like if Tyrion and Tim Curry had a baby

Always assumed Egg would know that Dunk wouldn’t be camping around the lord’s pavilions…

So he naturally just looked around the outside of the camps for a bit… and within a little while for the camp, recognized the horses…. And knew it was Dunks camp.
