Just 6 hours? Bring me the stream stretcher!

13 hours of discussion for a 3.5 hour show, george would be proud

Ah, good. I was worried it would all be over after just seven hours.

Keep in mind, if that was the Redgrass field then it makes sense that Arlan is in a week-long drunken stupor. He just watched his nephew die right in front of him, because of him. That morning. Rough day there, bud

I wish you guys discussed the changes to Tanselle’s puppet show. In the book it’s just tiny marionette puppets on strings, in the show its huge literal fire breathing medieval animatronic looking things. I think it’s more powerful that the puppets are small and humble, and also it makes Aerion look like even more of a petty child that he throws a tantrum over tiny hand puppets

Something I really like about the Sixteen Tons endcredits is that that the song explicitly brings up the idea that working class people don’t get to go to heaven (“St. Peter don’t you call me cause I can’t go / I owe my soul to the company store”), which mirrors what Rafe says in the flashback about the aristocracy not ending up “in hell with the rest of us” because the inhabitants of Flea Bottom don’t get the proper funeral rites of the Faith of the Seven

Second part so soon? Was expecting a 2.5 year wait as per usual schedule 😂 not complaining though 🖤🖤🖤🖤

44:10 I think it’s really the smartest answer he could have given. Cause what response would have satisfied people? What explanation would have been good enough? At best, he could have tried to blame producers, which I think still could have backfired. So yeah… “Whoops! My bad. Moving on…”

Milly alcock and Emma Darcy both have 2 legs so rhaenyra did technically have 4 legs in house of the dragon

Baelor is eating in episode two because they're observing guest right. Bread and salt

Ira Parker said "a knight remembers his vows" was in the script. They even practiced the scene but due to weather they shot something different that day, and just honestly forgot to shoot it. They didnt relise they hadnt shot it till the editing process. By that time the sets were down, so they tried green screening it into the scene, but the quality was shit, so they just didnt have it in. Ira parker said that it was entirley his fault as showrunner and he was kicking himself for it, but it was what it was. I got to say i respect him taking responsibility for it.

Also the Otho thing, i hated the change. Him being the only one to even acknowledge Dunk asking, but saying "that may be but it is not my fight", adds so much to what George says is gonna be an eventual one on one fight between Dunk and Otho.

Im torn about Maekar not giving permission, because nothing we have seen technically says this could not be the case, but it also takes away Maekar growing as a person/ father. But also as a father who within the last year or so lost his beloved wife, had his third son sent to the citadel against his express wishes, his two oldest sons being "dissapointments", and he just accidentally killed his beloved older brother. Him not wanting to lose his youngest son makes sense, preticularly after the scene of Egg about to potentially kill Arieon. Maekar for all his faults clearly loved all his kids.

One last thing, I have a headcanon thing about Dunks knighting that definitely would fit into the tone of this show.
Arlen pulls out his sword as the rain starts to drizzle, he puts it on Dunks shoulder and he literally mutters something about defending the week and innocent, but never does the proper vows because he dies right after that bit.
That would keep Dunk still being Knighted (but only technically), but because it wasn't proper, Dunk doesn't feel proper about it. So he feels like a fraud, though he isnt.

I feel like you could infer from both the flashback where young Dunk follows Arlan for an absurd distance without approaching him and the flash back where Arlan “dies” that perhaps Arlan wanted to teach Dunk a final lesson in standing up for himself. He raised this meek boy into a man with little confidence despite how large he was. Arlan was probably worried that not only would knighthood put Dunk in harms way because of the loss of his nephew but also because Dunk wasn’t confident yet. Hearing Dunk finally ask him the question “why didn’t you ever knight me?” was probably what he needed to hear Dunk say to know he’d grown into a man.

They get hung up on Valarr but imo the simple reason they didn’t do expansion for him vs others is that he’s dead by the next season starts whereas we will or could see Lionel, aerion, and Maekar again etc

Ngl I wanted to see dunk SCRAPPING in the streets, in the books it makes reference to what he learned in the streets brawl wise.. wanted him to kick the shit out of the gold cloak, Arlan to look at him like "what is this beast of a child" and take him under his wing there and then

It's kinda hilarious just how much Schwifty cares about hair

Me: gets halfway through the 7-hour AKOTSK book vs. show livestream
Schurphy and Gliper: livestream part 2.  SIX MORE HOURS

I really want to see Daeron coming back in the show after season 3 . Henry Ashton was great and I like the tragedy of the character

I think they probably added the last Maekar scene at the end to have a hook to draw people in for season 2. Otherwise it just ends on a happy note and they were probably worried people wouldn’t care enough to come back for season 2. It does definitely show a lack of confidence in how the show would be perceived, but it’s definitely forgivable if they address it well in season 2. Maybe they’re trying to give Maekar a longer character arc.

I just watched AKotSK with someone with no familiarity with the books or other shows and I think having the flashback with Rafe and Alester helped answer the question for him of “Why does Dunk want to fight in this tourney so much anyway?” This was the city that he mentioned he’s return to and the job that he’d be stuck with if he didn’t go to Ashford. It shows how miserable of a city Kings Landing is and how corrupt the City Watch is for people who don’t know about either
