Thanks for the video!  I’m 64 and regrettably got rid of my albums and CDs when I started streaming music.   Recently started selectively rebuilding a CD collection.  Enjoying your channel.

any Hendrix CD or Vinyl sounds incredible, and both are not over priced

Newly subscribed form New Zealand. I have definitely been priced out of the Vinyl market. Like you I have been focusing on CDs lately. I have been buying up Blue Note jazz cds which are cheap as chips compared to their vinyl counter-parts. I have also been cataloging my collection which has been very interesting. The thing that has interested me the most over the last couple of years has been the change in attitude towards CDS- I remember people being abused on Vinyl community groups for even mentioning CDs. I think we should enjoy our cds and the current price because they are going up.

I never abandoned cds. Bought tons  chraply.

This is the reason why I still buy CD’s. They are more affordable and sound just as good as vinyl.

I went to a local thrift shop in my mom's neighborhood and bought amazing CDs , a stack of 12 for less then 20 bucks!

Same situation here just outside Toronto Canada.

A few months ago I reached my modest goal of 400 records and was going to buy some CD's for a while to fill out my CD shelves.  But I found buying CD's was just not the same as buying vinyl records. So I have bought about another 60 records since then, compared to 10 CD's. I don't like buying CD's in a store.  I can order them online and not worry about what condition they will be in. After going to a record seller I like and walked out twice, I went back one last time and reached for the $10 or less bins and found a few I think I may like. I think I will concentrate on the bargain bins for a while.

Yeah, I've been getting more CDs this past year because most go for $1 or $2 on Discogs.  If I can get a good CD for less than $10 on Discogs (price, plus tax, plus shipping), I'm totally on board.  Plus, I like to compare and contrast vinyl vs CD versions of my favorite albums (e.g. Rush, Alice In Chains, Pink Floyd, Metallica, etc.).  I recently paid almost $50 for a new vinyl album by Soundgarden (Down on the Upside).  I also paid over $100 for a couple of different MoFi versions of Bridge Over Troubled Water on vinyl.  Absolutely insane!

I find that Amazon Music streamed thru my PC's sound card sounds pretty good. Connected via a coaxial into an inexpensive DAC and to my Marantz. I set the sound card to play 24 bits at 192,000 hz and it sounds mighty fine to my ears.

Picked up Sony cd player for € 10,00. Sounds great. Difference with my Dvd player: the Sony loads instantly.

I recently found a big Bear Family Doris Day boxset at Salvation Army. 6 CDs and 100 page hard cover book. The box itself is knackered [now reasonably repaired] but the discs and book are EX/NM. $5!

If you go to the local Walmart, you could find many Iron Maiden Sleeve CDs for around $5 or so same for Metallica. I see them every time i go.

I love vinyl like the rest of us, but I essentially stopped buying new vinyl for the same reasons. Unless it’s something very special, Ibtend to buy CD’s now. They’ve been coming out with some incredibly nice CD box sets. Great example: Miles Davis In France 1963-64. It averages for $55 with 8 CD’s in the set. It sounds great and a great value! Really appreciate your videos and your take on vinyl these days. Keep up the great work!-Danny🎧

Us poor men are going to need a 2nd income. In my area, and I'm sure it will spread, Goodwill stores just raised their used cd prices by 30% overnight. You can still get CDs for a buck or two at the Salvation Army...but a lot of cheesy to look through to find decent titles. Seniors Day is Mondays at Goodwill (25% off). Salvation Army has discounts depending on what color price tag.

I do have a small vinyl collection.🎶 However I switched to cds 💿 after hearing Brothers In Arms - Dire Straits on a work colleagues system.
So saved up for an entire hi Fi seperates system ovet 6 months.
After auditioning instore My 1st cd player was a  Yamaha "Natural Sound" player & I chose the classic NAD 3020 amplifier & B&W 685  stand mount speakers.
Right now here in UK even blu ray audio only discs (with dolby atmos 5.1 & extra content) cost less than most single new /or reissue vinyl albums 🇬🇧

Good evening. The only reason I eventually prefer CDs to vinyl is the price. Although, from what I saw in Italy last July, new CDs at 20 euros or more seem absurd to me. Greetings from Brazil.

Here in Germany, the prices for vinyl records are also rising.

They have been for decades.  😂. Used to buy them all of the time at pawn shops back in the late 90s. 😂

Yep I second your rationale here, as much as we love the art and warmth and nostalgic factor of vinyls they have gone way out of hand moneywise so the cd route is increasingly more doable. As for the cd players i mysrelf am happy to use my 2011 Magnavox dvd recorder to listen to my cds at a great hifi level, no problem at all.
