This blows my mind every single time🤯🤯🤯❤ She wanted Freddie to perform this at the Olympics in 1992 and Freddie had to tell her he wasnt going to be here to perform.Heartbreaking😭😭❤❤

So glad that you watched this. Two of the best singers the world has ever seen, now singing in heaven!

Montserrat Caballé was one of the most celebrated operatic sopranos of the 20th century. Her nickname among opera fans was La Superba (The Superb One)

This is incredible ❤  You know when Freddie does a production it is first class.  He was at the end of his career,  and told Monserrat he wouldn't be around much longer.  He loved her dearly,  and she helped him succeed at another phase of his career.   She said there was a tear in his eye, and she took his hand.  Freddie Mercury is unforgettable!  A life long fan, I never grow tire of him.  So many songs that you never hear on YouTube.   Thanks young man for recognizing the greatness of this preformance ❤❤❤  Kaye

Two Angels came together and made this incredible music. Written by Freddie and Mike Moran. This song was chosen for the Olympics in Spain.Loved your reaction❤

I get shivers every time i hear this song

One of his greatest wishes came true this evening.  To sing  with one of the best Opera singer of his time. Worth it!!!

This wasn't a rock concert, it's opera. The song was performed by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe, who Freddie declared to be one of the most beautiful women he ever met. Caballe requested that Freddie write a song about her hometown, and he did so, in Barcelona, a song about meeting a lover in a breathtakingly beautiful city. Mercury had befriended the operatic soprano Montserrat Caballe and had long admired her music. In 1987 and 1988 they recorded a whole album of pop-operatic material. >>
This was supposed to be the theme song for the 1992 Summer Olympic Games held in Barcelona, Spain; however, the organizers chose another song at the last minute due to Freddie Mercury's untimely death at the end of 1991 from AIDS, to avoid controversy. However, the song was still performed at the opening ceremonies, Caballe performing live to a backing track featuring Freddie's vocals.

This always makes me tear up.  So beautuful.  Freddie wrote amazing music as well as being an amazing performer.  The respect he had for her shows through.

Freddie can do anything. So versatile. ❤

Spanish. Barcelona is in Spain.  Freddie wrote this.

Freddie wrote this song to hopefully be chosen as the official song of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. Unfortunately, he passed away. Montserrat performed this song at those Games in his memory.

Freddie was so much more than a rock singer and frontman of the band. He had an eclectical musical taste, loved opera and ballet. It was his dream to sing with his icon  and when it came into fruition, he was on the cloud nine. This song was the first collaboration between a rock singer and an opera diva.

Now wasn't that a treat for your ears.... But then again Freddie's singing so it's inevitable ❤ & Montsy is unbelievable, what a wonderful pairing 😍❣️

Saw her live in 1992 met her backstage. A concert for the King and Queen of Spain. She was just lovely and humble. RIP to Freddy and Monseratt.

Try Golden Boy.. & How can I go on…from these two……..magic!!🎼❤️🎼🇬🇧🇬🇧

I'm with you dude. I get chills every time I watch this.

They did a whole opera album together/  Another great song from the 2 of them is HOW CAN I GO ON.  Freddie's voice is so beautiful in this song. Barcelona was made for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.   Freddie told Monserat that who would not able to sing with her at the Olympics.  So sad ; he never complained and was so courageous while he was in a lot of pain and his body was wasting away.  His voice never faded and he recorded right up to the end of his life. For example in the video I WANT IT ALL, he was super sick.  He had lost half of foot so he was moving like used to but he gave it all he had for that amazing song.

Montserrat was a famous opera singer and a great friend of Freddie.

You need to check out Freddie's "Living On My Own".  It was done at his 39th birthday party and such a fun song!
