If Sailor Moon was on Disney+, that would make her a Disney princess.

The moment I realized Robyn avoided addresing the golden crystal, I immediately knew she'd pick Crystal as the winner.
I cannot wait for the 90s vs Crystal versions of Stars, the differences are jarring to say the least.

I'm glad the eternal version of Uranus and Neptune didn't a get the "bitch counter" 🤣

I wish I could just combine the aesthetics and slice of life elements of SuperS with the story and plot details of Eternal

Lmfaoooo “Seriously, let me out. I’m gunna choke a bitch” 🤣

26:09 Child Mamoru looks cute. Give him the matching round eyes that Usagi has and you will want to hug him.

"My Hornie Pony, My Hornie Pony..."

Gee, if Sigman Farud would of been still alive...

I would love to see a Lucky Star anime vs. manga comparison video.

I really liked Sailor Moon Eternal for a lot of reasons:

For one, the movie format seemed to fit the Dead Moon Arc better than an episodic format. From what I've seen, there was a lot of really weird details in the 90s anime (this is just me) such as the Dream Mirrors and all that. However, I did like how they did the backstory for the Amazon Trio (Hawk's Eye is my favorite) and that they all lived in the end. In the movie and the manga, while the Amazon Trio and Nehelenia (sp?) got the focus a bit sidelined, the Amazoness Quartet were amazing and efficient at what they were supposed to do. As soon as the Dead Moon Circus appeared on Earth, they immediately sealed off Juban and prevented the Sailor Guardians from transforming, while also preventing Chibi Usa from going to the future. Nehelenia was scary, in both the manga and Eternal. While the 90s anime was more sympathetic, Eternal just gave her title "Queen of Darkness" an interesting twist, especially when she said that Light and Darkness need to coexist together and that they cannot overpower the other (but she tried anyway).

Another note that I liked about Eternal was how the Sailor Scouts awakened their new powers. While their common dream to protect their princess may be common, it does provide a motive for their separate dreams, as without Sailor Moon, they would not be able to follow those dreams in the future. Plus, CAN WE TALK ABOUT THEIR PRINCESS DRESSES!!! AAAAH! (Let me fangirl! It was so good to see those dresses in color!)

Then there's the relationships! First off, Chibi Usa and Helios is the sweetest relationship I've seen in a long time. While I feel like Eternal did it a bit better, the 90s also had some cute and emotional moments that I liked (the Pegasus and Chibi Usa with wings scene being an example). Mamoru and Usagi were just so good in Eternal! Especially with Mamoru's character development (THANK YOU ETERNAL!!!). I said this before, father and daughter get character development on the same Arc!!!! I also agree with Robin on how Eternal gave Mamoru character development that the 90s anime did not give, which is understandable.

And this is why I liked Eternal a bit more than the 90s anime, but there are good things between both series that I really liked and enjoyed.

though the 90's version is still one of my favorites, i like things in both plus also i agree with others on how the 90's version did the chibimoon & Helios relationship better by having it develop over time instead of rushing it like the eternal/manga version did. also i agree with Robyn, both versions of Nehelenia are cool & likable in their own way

So Robyn, what was your reaction to Hotaru FINALLY getting a proper transformation sequence?

14:51 I keep saying this. Moon is nerfed in Super S as she needs Pegasus and in the beginning of Stars she was useless until Saturn gives her Eternal Power.

Sailor Moon Eternal was great but I think the first part was just a bit slow where it’s like okay we get it each guardian will power up so speed the story along. The second part was amazing and I love how crystal is treating the outer guardians with their back story

At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference, I prefer the Manga version more (this is coming from someone who recently read the Manga, I connect and enjoyed it more simple as that). The Manga itself is the superior version of SM to me. All anime adaptions are good in their own way. I like crystal/eternal more since it's following the Manga storyline. Overall I love all SM regardless of the version.

I always called this season "The Adventures of Sailor Moon and Chibi-Moon" since it felt MUCH more like a typical weekday afternoon Super Hero show than the rest of the series where even the most filler of filler felt like there was some point or progression to be had.

I'm surprised you didn't allude to the first six episodes of Sailor Stars being based on The Ice Queen fairytale. This mini-arc was the most epic out of the entire series IMHO.

ALSO!

Can we talk about the fact that the Outer Senshi (in Crystal) gave off SERIOUS "throuple" energy (and I LOVED it)!

Eternal also my favorite 💖💖💖🌙🌙🌈

I wouldn't say Usagi exactly stayed the same. She grew a bit. I feel her holding back after Mamoru pushed her away in the Manga/Eternal edition showed growth. She was listening to him even though it pained her. I also loved E/M versions because they reconnect her to her roots even more. Its great learning more of what her previous life was like. The scene with her as a toddler and her mom was precious. I think the e/m stuff here actually sets up beautifully for what's to come and helps Usagi truly become the next version of Queen Serenity. I also love seeing the pain that not being near Usagi is having on the outer senshi. As much as they love their new simpler life you also see their anguish that they are separated from the princess that they were glad to have gotten to get close to after being the solitary guardians for so long. I love the revelation that both Serenity and Nehelenia are not actually from the moon great. It really made me go huh as a kid.

I am split between the two, they both have good points and bad ones. If they reboot it again, maybe a mix of the these two
Edit: you know I noticed something about the sailor guardians, Venus is Moon's doppelganger as they do look similar in appearance. I believe that among the Quartet, Cresta or Veasta (don't know which is which, and I can't spell) is Chibi-Moon's doppelganger
