“my girl and her bangs didn’t waste any time, and i know that’s right”

When it comes to sexual assault, sometimes street justice is all the justice you get.

its so poetic to think that mary died trying to suture herself back up (physically put herself back together), just like she tried doing after the assault: emotionally putting herself back together. she wasn’t successful in either attempt but it really goes to show how traumatizing assault can be on the psyche.

It’s honestly so cool how involved the body modification community was in the making of this movie. It’s refreshing to not see a niche community poked at for laughs or shock value.

Not Juno STILL catching strays 😂

I appreciate you not using silly censorings like grape n such. It puts a bad taste in my mouth.

Body horror is a good genre of horror it just has to be used correctly.

6:05 "...Juno" "the fucking Descent reference I am so dead 💀

That kind of bottom surgery is still pretty rare, but its becoming more popular among particularly nonbinary trans folks. It's commonly called nullification or nulloplasty! I can definitely see why its confusing for someone without dysphoria to think about, but I loved its inclusion in this movie! I wasn't familiar with the surgery when this movie came out but I doubt it was offered at very many legitimate places. I think there's only around 10 places in the United States that currently offer this surgery.

Ruby's husband killing Mary always pissed me off... Like she consented to all those procedures and he took it upon himself to get revenge?? Whew, I'd be mad as hell going out like that.

The movie is an entirely Canadian production, but the directors joked to the effect that they set it in America because Canadian Mary wouldn't sound intimidating.

People who didn't watch the descent video and hear about JUNO sleeping with other peoples mens are going to be SO CONFUSED LMAO

Love the moral of the story. I remember being so disturbed by this movie - your entire life derailed because the males who should have been your mentors turn out to be monsters

Your channel has been such a breath of fresh air, love hearing your unique takes on these movies ✨

Tristan Risk (Beatrice) is amazing!  She was a burlesque performer here in Vancouver quite a while ago, and she's been in a few horror movies.

I was a cocktail waitress at a gentleman's club. So to answer your question about why is there cameras in the bathroom. It's for safety and liability reasons. The club doesn't want to be liable for any drug or illegal activities. There's times where it's also to prevent theft. They are also installed in the locker rooms

there’s truly no need for SA scenes ever❤️

The "sealing up" is an actual surgery! Its called a nullification surgery. =)

I interviewed the Soska sisters about the movie when I was in highschool! they're both SUCH sweetiepies. they told me when they were filming the SA scene it was an EXTREMELY closed set -- if someone didn't ABSOLUTELY have to be there? they weren't allowed in. as hard as it must've been to film, I'm glad the directors did their best to make sure she was as comfortable as she could be <3 I'm so glad this movie's getting more love
