Dementia is such a cruel cruel disease. Eve when your loved one is in front of your eyes, they are not really there. My late father had it and it took him away years before he passed. So happy these people made it home safe.

Always put the victim’s name, address, phone number in their clothing. Also tell your local police that your spouse/bf/gf/mother/father/sister/brother/niece/nephew/whomever has dementia and can slip out and get lost pretty easily … and give them photos so they already have a place to start if you have to call them for help.

My mom was lucky enough to get into a home for dementia , was there for 14years , visited her from south africa everyday for about 10 days but she didnt recognize me once 😢 she told me i haven't visited i told her i am Moira , she looks at me and said i dont look like her

This was very moving. Loved it when she asked for some cake when she got back! my husband went missing 3 times. he escaped from a secure mental facility. He has bipolar. Police had to hunt for him. Once he took the bus to my house at 10pm. He took the train and bus. He was very familar with the route. I remember when we went to the mental facility I showed him where the bus stop was... so he had some bearings of where he was. I supposed that was useful in a funny old way

So let me get this straight, Johns' wife knew that he didn't like being home alone, yet left him anyway to go out. Then she's "worried" when he goes missing. Then, too really put the cherry on the cake, once he's back home she has the audacity to tell him off as if he did it on purpose. Christ on a bike, you couldn't make it up.
