Lore accurate Zeus

Considering Bell's grandfather is canonically Zeus...... his words makes a lot of sense once you know who he is.

Today I learned Bipolar has nothing to do with bears.

The girl who dreams the future is a Cassandra character. Cursed to see the future but no one will ever believe her no matter what she says.

Cassandra is accurate to greek myth, she was someone who apallo was infatuated with, and gave her prothetic powers, but she did not return her love. Because of this, apallo cursed her so that no one would ever believe her

What I have learned in this entire video...

SOME MEN THIRST WHILE OTHERS DROWN🤣🤣

"bell last name cranel"
"some men thirst while others drown"

Danmachi is incredibly mid at points, but when it locks in, oh boy peak arrives

The problem with the anime is it's a crime against the light novel.

The problem with danmachi is that it skipped so much of the novel in the early seasons, for example the character arc for welf, lily, haruhime, mikoto is skipped in the anime, season 2 cut like half of the content in the novel and what they replaced it with were some poor jokes and harem dynamics, from season 4 the author of danmachi started to work together with the animation studio to ensure it gets the adaptation that he wanted and it is clearly visible by the difference in quality from that season

Lore accurate Cassandra. (She is based off of a character from Greek mythology that Appalo cursed so that she would always know the future but never be believed)

"Everybody knows not to bother a girl during her REM sleep." Alright that was a good one.

The studio does not like Aiz so decided to not animate pretty much any scene with her in it, leaving her feeling odd as the main interest. But for reader, she is definitely one of the favorites.

In early season 5 he actually picks up girls in a dungeon, as his training required him to do

my king finally uploaded the promised danmachi video... my life is yours🙏😨

3:55 your not slick PAL that ain't Crunchyroll💀

Some men thirst.
while others drown.
truer words have never been spoken.

I feel for you, Lunar.  I also felt overly optimistic and thought I'd binge run this series since everyone was freaking out every episode of season 5.
Go easy on my girl Cassandra.  She isn't cursed with precognition.  She's cursed that no one will ever believe her.  It can be in the middle of a hurricane and she tells folks to bring an umbrella and they'll still dress like it'll hit 80 degrees later.
It is hilarious how these harem shows all run into the same problem.  After all that set up to idolize the pinup model, turns out fans love a character with a history, personality and goals.  The creators even had to make up some fanfic where Bel ends up with Ryuu (probably afraid someone else might do and better). Just like Nino in Quintessential Quintuplets, and Megumi in Food Wars and... you get the idea.  It's easier to root for the girl who's there than the girl on the pedestal.  My question is why did Freya think her wine-drinking, pasties wearing self was the winning bid when she's only know Bel as a waitress.  If anything she should have reset him to run the Hostess of Fertility with Syr.

For me Danmachi didn't get good until its world building could take over the fanservice.  Once it could start telling stories about the Amazons (and not to be THAT guy but there are no Amazonesses. Amazons are an all-female tribe.), halflings, fallen Familia and the rest is when it got good.

0:45 bro was not kidding when he said he would be skipping a lot. he didn't even get to finish his sentence

A fun video indeed. Im a fan of the channel now. Danmachi surprised me with its hook of harem power fantasy but actually showed some deep examination of classic Greek literature and how it portrays heroes in between the fan service. Growing up as a Greek, I have so many greek mythology stories wrapped up in my head and it made it somewhat clear early on that the authors goal was to earnestly take these older concepts of hero stories and push them against modern tropes and conventions, horniness and all. It made the story a lot more interesting and I wasnt surprised when the show changed to have serious events surrounding things like love vs lust, damaging self sacrificial heroism, and if justice exists or is just moral convenience to those with power.

I wouldnt say the anime does a good job of getting those themes out in the open. They stick to what works to get eyes I suppose. The light novel and mobile game probably does a lot to show exactly what the author is thinking and theres a reason Memoria Freese was one of the most well loved gacha games. It provided a lot of context for the characters (and a lot of fanservice), when those big anniversary stories came out you were getting an epic that recontexualized so much of what you thought you knew about the characters and series. The author put a lot of care into it even when he didnt have to and that convinced me he was serious about this story.

I noticed the movie didnt make an appearance here. It would definitely be worth the watch. It takes all the plot convenience, and protagonist power, and romance, and comedy and recolors it in a way I quite enjoyed. Especially if you dont like Bells early character (which many characters in the series dont either). I think a lot of people dont talk about the movie much cause it wasnt lighthearted and fun like the early seasons, but to me the audience looks like its settled into enjoying the darker themes of the newer seasons and so it might be a better fit for where the series is at now. Also theres some animosity towards the movie cause the animators basically confirmed its the reason the weak seasons of the anime were as weak as they were, so theres that. But it is what it is now.

Anyways thats too much typing for Danmachi. Im glad you watched it and found enjoyment in it, I found a lot of enjoyment in the series to. Thanks for making such a funny video covering it.
