Shortly afterwards, he was knighted, an honour he deserved more than most who get it.

I don’t know how many times I have seen this, I still start crying with gratitude for Nicholas Winton!

I live in Maidenhead. There's a statue of him on a platform at the local station to honor him. He lived just outside Maidenhead Town centre.

What an amazing man. The best of humanity comes out in the worst of times.

RIP Esther Rantzen 1940-2026

A reminder that even in the darkest of times, seemingly ordinary people will make a stand.

And people hail footballers and pop stars as heroes, really, they have no idea

One of the most emotional scenes ever seen on British TV. I remember watching it live at the time all those years ago. A wonderful human being - so humble …❤

Winton ended up living to 106 as well, what a legend

I think lots of people are looking at this after watching the Film last night. I was in tears both at the Film and remembering this episode. I actually remember watching the programme at the time and thinking how come nobody knew about this. Well done for reminding us that good people are always there

"Whoever saves one life saves the world entire."

we could all learn a lot from Nicholas Winton, humanity would benefit.

What a marvellous man .

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything on here as moving as this.   What an amazing gentleman Sir Nicholas Winton was x

What a great man.

Just watched One Life tonight. Amazing, humble man.

In July 2026, the British Home Office blocked the evacuation of dozens of women and children from Gaza. Keir Starmer and Shabana Mahmood would have made Sir Nicholas Winton ashamed to be a socialist.

What struck me with this, he just looked at each person he saved and smiled.
He wiped a tear when they reacted but looked to me like a bloke that thought ‘ I just did what was right’…..

SAINT WINTON ❤
