I visited Leicester every month for my work starting in 1965 until 1987. I thought it was the greatest city on earth, very kind people, lasting friendships, great restaurants and the Mecca ballroom! To me it was a paradise until the "invasion" began and changed the city for ever.
But I still have my memories which nothing can erase.

Serve the UK right. During Colonial rule in Msia, the British brought Indian migrants into Malaya to slave work on their rubber plantation. When the British gave independence and left Malaya, they left the Indians workers and force the Msian Govt to give citizenship to these migrants. Today there are more than 2 million Indians in Msia.
