The low hum of the traction motors sure takes me back to when I was a kid visiting my Oma and Opa and ridding these trains everywhere in the Netherlands.  Thank you for filming!

This makes me think of some children's story where the train is sitting (sadly) in storage, and then someone comes along and says "they need you!" One can only imagine how happy the train is to be needed!

Honestly, these trains have always been amazing. I used to ride them a lot and it has always been a comfortable ride, far better than most new trains.

Putting a museum train back into service, even for a regional service, is a brave decision. This trainset has been lovingly cared for. This would be like restarting an Amtrak Turboliner and running it out to Cape Cod.

I remember the sounds of everything inside this train. The bins, the benches, the doors. It's so ingrained into my memory.

I am Swedish, but spent my summer holidays in the Netherlands during my childhood in the 70s. I remember - and love - just these particular trains. Everything comes back now: the look, the sound, and even the smell (!). In those day my family mostly stayed in Hilversum, where my grandfather lived, but me and my brother went into A'dam almost every day to look at stuff. I still remember the stations we passed: Bussum Zuid, Bussum-Naarden, Weesp, and Muiderpoort... (Hilversum "Media Park" and A'dam "Science Park" didn't exist in those days). This is so cool, this is the newest train in the Netherlands right here." - On the subject of animals, that newest train is officially nicknamed the wasp because of the color scheme.

This brings back memories. I left The Netherlands almost 2 decades ago and for me when i think about the Netherlands i think about the Dutch landscape with windmills and this yellow train passing by in the background. When you said the seats used to be sofas it made me feel a bit old, that's the only way i remember Dutch trains sitting next to my grandmother on the way to the next city for a day shopping.

I came from Canarda and lived in the Netherlands for four years betwtween 19778 and  1982,  I found the train service to be  exceptionally good. not exceptionally good, but stellar.

One morning, when I was in Weesp, waiting for my train to Amsterdam,  and an old train rolled into their station.  Not one I’d ever seen before.  Sleek and streamlined.  I went into my carriage, found my seat and was very impressed by the interior fittings! Door 16:00 handles, ashtrays, etc.  It was. Blast from the past?  Woold trimming,gs and comfortable seats!  It was a one off mexperience and I’l never forget it.  Why they chose to put these vint age trains into service I’ll never know, but I am very grateful to have been lucky enough to have experienced this vintage train.
The modern trains at the time were amazing as well, but in terms of interior finishing thy didn’t hold a candle.

Even though they don't have locomotives, these were the trains that still felt like trains. Now we just get trams.

As a massive rail fan that lives in Barneveld when I was just casually biking back from school I saw the train pass by and it literally felt like I was dreaming😂. I did some research and noticed that I was right the train was back which was a massive delight to me.

I have always loved these. The older models were cool too. They really give you a feeling you were going fast because of all the shaking and the noise.
