Welcome to Château Poséidon.
One year ago, we left Vancouver, sold almost everything, and took on the impossible: restoring an abandoned 19th-century château in the heart of France that had been left empty for nearly 40 years.
In this episode, we finally take you on the full tour.
From the grand staircase with its Poseidon details, to the forgotten salons, the old chapel, the crumbling rooms, the hidden tower, the basement, the attic, the caretaker’s house, and the 7 hectares of overgrown parkland — this is the château as it stands today, before the next major phase of restoration begins.
Château Poséidon, formerly known as Château de la Borde, was built around 1860 and still holds extraordinary original details: tuffeau stone, historic stained glass, old wallpapers, fireplaces, a dramatic central staircase, and the motto carved into its story: “Qui Veult Peut” — where there’s a will, there’s a way.
But behind the beauty is the reality: no heating, broken windows, water damage, years of neglect, and an enormous amount of work ahead.
Our dream is to bring this château back to life — not only as our home, but as a place for weddings, guests, culture, history, and community.
This is the full tour of where we are starting from.
Thank you for being part of this journey, for believing in the château, and for helping us prove that even the most forgotten places can have a future.
