This week at Château Poséidon, we celebrate Damien's birthday with friends and family—a reminder of just how much life has returned to a place that stood silent for over 40 years.

But the celebrations don't last long. As we continue our restoration, we uncover a major water problem hidden within the château, forcing us to rethink our next steps. Between unexpected discoveries, difficult decisions, and another week of progress, there's never a dull moment in this incredible adventure.

Thank you for joining us, and welcome back to Château Poséidon!

Please don't apologise for being shirtless. 🙂

😢 So sorry about your floor. You caught it earlier than planned, and while that changes your ambitious schedule; you’ll keep the rot from spreading and being surprised later. ❤ Margie

The rotten timber flooring seems big to you but many other chateau owners have faced the same problem , it is doable and you will work it out

Wood worm and rot. You are dealing with everything every other chateau owner seems to go through! Treat, treat, treat all the wood as you go.

Happy birthday Damien🎉; wishing you good health, much love, and success with all your dreams! Amazing spoils for you birthday - well deserved 🎉
The chateau takes, the chateau gives… it took the floor, but gave you hidden cupboards… the journey of discovery is amazing and opens new opportunities!
Having a grand plan for electricity installation, heating, water, etc. is awesome and also ensures compliance to all regulatory requirements!
I’m sure the design and layout will be amazing!
Great to see are enjoying time with friends!
Keep smiling, loving and living your dreams ❤

The floor is not that big of a deal, if that is the worst thing you run into you will be in good shape. don't stress over the small stuff, I have been restoring properties for over 30 years, you just have to add it to the list of things that have to be done and move on.

Do not give up you will get there, it’ll take a lot of work but you two with all your helpers will sort it. You are all so inspirational ❤️

Sorry about the floor, guys. Try to look on the bright side. The damage is localised, non-structural and repairable. Sure, it's disappointing, when you weren't expecting it, but it's not a catastrophic discovery in the great scheme of things. A good polisher/restorer will be able to match the colour and finish of the replacement boards to the existing ones. The bigger picture is that your roof is very good, so the chances of your discovering any further major rot are low. Onwards and upwards!

Dear Tom and Damian, I am following your chateau adventures with pleasure.
My father always said: if you buy an old house, you don't know what you're in for until you're finished.

Thom, keep up the DIY work, and Damiaan, keep going with your interior design plans.
