After her mother's death, Sasha lives with her grandfather. When he becomes seriously ill, he is forced to take his granddaughter to her father—a stranger with whom she hasn't spoken in a long time. The girl protests: she cuts her hair like a boy's and runs away from home. Among her peers, Maxim and Mysha, the short-haired and confused Sasha is mistaken for a boy. She decides not to dissuade them and joins a new, exciting, and sometimes dangerous world of her peers. But the heroine doesn't know where this deception will lead. At its core, this is a story about rebellion, the search for oneself and "one's own" people, and the theme of identity.
