You should make some cute, themed “you break it, you buy it” signs that way you at least can choose how to situation goes (because sometimes mistakes do happen) and won’t feel so awkward about it.

I know you joked about seeing someone about that, but I think it’s so fair to consider seeing someone or maybe medication. Our brains can get really overactive trying to protect us with vigilance, but if it’s affecting you to the point where it keeps you from getting things done? That’s always been my sign to get back up from pros, or even medication. Your body is a fun little recipe and lots of things can go wonky! And if you can’t get it at home store bought is fine :)

I completely understand the anxiety and faint feeling. For me, anxiety is what makes me feel that way, and then it makes my anxiety worse so it’s like never ending cycle. Dizziness also comes with it. I just tell myself I’ve never actually passed out from anxiety. Give myself lots of breaks and keep a fan in my bag.

A friend of mine was recently identified with OCD. She’s in her early forties, so late identification. A lot of her anxieties center on her partner, who is just wonderful with her. It seems like it’s really helped to have someone supportive.

Sometimes bringing a beloved dog helps, as long as they don't like to eat strangers. Being a character, not oneself, can help too, because then one's vulnerable self is hidden behind the character.

These types of videos make me so happy, obv not cause you have anxiety but just cause sometimes it's nice to know you aren't the only one doing things scared! First market, first ren faire, and you did great. Your tent stayed down and your stuff is so pretty. I think if you have the means, seeing someone about this might help you a lot!

I suffered from panic attacks when I was about your age - my mom passed from ALS and I kept emotions in for my young children. This all happened when I was living in CT and driving was my scare that prevented me from participating in shows. I thought it was medical issues until someone told me they went through these same panic attacks. A therapist and reading a book on calming techniques really helped me understand what was happening - that “fight or flight” adrenaline when the attacks would happen really made my life difficult, until I learned how to focus myself to let it pass. I pray you find what works for you.

Aww hun, glad you're talking to your doctor about how you feel, they can help you or refer you, no harm, no pressure. You did great though. This was a new, and extreme experience, windy markets are anxiety inducing! You did great but help is out there. Also, I agree with the signs about break it/bought it. You can still be kind when it's an accident, but you're covered if it's not.

Congratulations on your first Ren Fair! It sounds like the throwing up may be performance anxiety. That reaction is so common with stage fright. Then adding the wind! It's always good to have a good friend with. You did a fantastic job!

I love your honesty and openness. I can relate with the anxiety. So proud of you for pushing through the challenges.
