"Tanks older than their crew"
Simon, that's actually pretty common.

A tyrant Acknowledging shortcomings is more dangerous than a tyrant that ignores them

When Simon says the 90s was a long time ago … I felt that.

There's a difference between saying North Korea has a strong military and saying that North Korea's military is less of a joke today than it was 30 years ago.

Did anyone else notice the "Kim Kong Il" title card? Now all I can think about is a 50 ft tall Kim Jong Il throwing barrels at Italian plumbers 😂

The fact that the DPRK is even a functional state after EVERYTHING that's happened to it, from losing 15% of its population and up to 80% of all buildings during the korean war, then after the fall of the ussr being completely isolated from the world due to americas trade embargo, and to make up worse, only 20% ( 2.3 million hectars) of its land is arable and can be used for farming. Is an achievement in and of it

Kim played "Homefront" and thought "YES THAT!"

'Is North Korea actually not an out-dated fucking joke suddenly 🤯😱?!?!

Oh we're in a recession recession 😂💀.

An enemy is never more dangerous than after you've dismissed them as harmless

My brother always says: "someone who knows how to fight will always beat someone who only knows how to march."

The fact that we don’t know for sure whether all these new systems are actually capable, or whether they’re a cardboard smokescreen, means that they are already serving their primary role: deterrence.

If Western planners are unable to discern the likely capability of the North Korean military, then we’re forced to assume that they are in fact capable - and with so many new systems being introduced all at once, it further compounds the unknown capability of NK and thus the deterrence factor.

Keeping Western observers in the dark about North Korea’s actual military capability may in fact be the entire point of these modernisation efforts.

The lines between the types of artillery were already blurred by the time the WW2 ended.

Ukrainian troops that fought against NK soldiers commented that they are good at fight and are fanatics at the same time. Think of japan soldiers in ww2 era

In all fairness most tanks in the US inventory are older than most of the crewmen that operate them as well. Considering the last Abram’s was made in 1996. Major difference is that we are much more meticulous with maintenance and upgrades of our vehicles to keep them moving and modern

I’m glad yall mentioned the skepticism over the reliability of those giant helical mags, I had considered getting a calico rifle (that top fed one yall showed) at one point but quickly ditched the idea when I researched them and read that they’re notoriously garbage rifles, basically every frustration that keeps drum magazines from being common at the range gets magnified by 10

Me, a resident of the UK, and a friend who fled North Korea frequently joke about our differences and similarities. That said, we can't complain about anything.

I'm glad you're a father. You seem like you'd be a dad full of wisdom to share with your children.

9:52 Not my dad's DPRK? My dad was on the Korean peninsula from 1950-1953 (he was NOT involved in combat) so my dad's DPRK was influenced by over 300k Chinese who chased him back across the DMZ.
