Having no knowledge of the Dreyfus affair before now, I had no clue what word was being bleeped out. I'd like to thank the comment section for coming through for me on this one 😂

THANK YOU so much for all your continued hard work in providing such excellent viewing! Also, thank you for being sensitive in your redactions. It involves a LOT of hard work & dedication, so makes your offerings all the more valuable! Bravo!

Interesting that Richard Dreyfuss stars in a movie about Alfred Dreyfus

The irony of one of the actors sharing the same surname is not entirely lost.

Never seen this film before. It was interesting and so thank you for the upload.
Regarding the bleeping. I don’t know whether this was by your judgement in light of assumed potential infringements on the you tube platform or other reasons. However, as others have said it is absurd when it is quite obvious to even the most dense that the word ‘Jew’ was being said under cover of bleeps derogatory tone. In one of the last frames it happened again, only a few seconds later the word Jew was spoken unbleeped.  Censorship is becoming ridiculous. We should not hide parts of history away and tell ourselves these never existed. To do so would mean we will not learn from the past to safeguard the future.

You can’t bleep out the word “Jew” or any synonym thereof in a movie about the Jew Dreyfus. It’s absurd!

Prisoner of Honor. So many of my favourite actors, plus Ken Russel! Never heard of this film (living in outback Queensland) and so glad I stumbled on such treasure among so much Yank dross. Shame about the audio hiccups - YouTube censorship?

The Dreyfus affair came to symbolise modern injustice in the Francophone world;[1] it remains one of the most notable examples of a miscarriage of justice and of antisemitism. The affair divided France into pro-republican, anticlerical Dreyfusards and pro-army, mostly Catholic anti-Dreyfusards, embittering French politics and encouraging radicalisation.[2] The press played a crucial role in exposing information and in shaping and expressing public opinion on both sides of the conflict.

The film here is "Prisoner of Honor" a 1991 British made-for-television drama directed by Ken Russell. The dialogue is stupidly vandalised by bleeping isolated words that are "not good for you to hear".

I know I'm a bit strange but I loved this movie. Thanks for posting it.

This came up randomly in my YouTube feed, I'm glad it did.

I'm well aware of the Dreyfus Affair and the conflagration it caused in France. How an army can conspire to frame one of its own officers based on bigotry, whilst knowing the identity of the real culprit, is beyond belief. It was clearly an institution trapped in a warped sense of honour to its own detriment though they clearly could not see this due to their own prejudices.

An interesting cast of some great British actors, plus Richard Dreyfus too, I enjoyed this telling of a gross miscarriage of justice.

It was a wonderful movie of the era.

Why the pathetic bleeping of certain words? If people don't like the vocabulary, there is the option to stop watching. Why ruin such a film with a fantastic cast!

How have I never heard of this before? excellent upload

En mi país, Argentina, sabemos a lo que pueden llegar los militares...Los padecimos. Una de las películas más extraordinarias que vi. Los actores están impagables...Gracias.

Never heard of this before, I've only seen French films about l'affaire Dreyfus. But what a cast! I'm going to enjoy this - especially with the winter-beating mulled wine I'm drinking 😅 !
