In this video I'm sharing the process of how I created a large oil painting en plein air of a secluded pool in a nearby moorland. The pool is surrounded by long grasses and trees, and taken together, it creates a very intimate scene.

In this painting I'm taking a layered approach in which the scene is slowly being formed. During springtime this year, I have visited the location on multiple occasions under changing light conditions. And, in addition, I have also added a few layers in the studio.
