This movie awakened a new fear in me. I'm now deeply afraid of mayors. Oh, I guess sharks are kinda dangerous too.
Happy I got to share my first time watching Jaws with you all!

Just remember if you hear a cello stay out of the water or it may be the last thing you hear, LOL

The barrels are used to keep the shark from diving deep and swimming fast. It can't get enough water flowing through his gills to get enough oxygen and he ends up drowning because it can't breathe. Two barrels is very hard and 3 is even more difficult and will tire him out.

Great Reaction....btw, you have the coolest accent. "How dare you" best Ben Gardner reaction ever.

10:30 "I don't know how much is a hundred yards."
About a hundred meters.
Not quite, but if you just pretend yard = meter, you'll be close enough to understand American movies, but not close enough to pass a math test.
(It is really about 91.5 meters).
Also, a foot is 1/3 of a yard, so you can imagine that a foot is 1/3 of a meter and you'll be close enough for Hollywood.

While we're at it, a mile is about 1.5 km (it's really closer to 1.6 km but 1.5 is easy to do in your head and close enough for Hollywood).

Also, the scene when they are examining Ben Gardner’s beat-up fishing boat, and Hooper pulls a shark tooth the size of a shot glass out of the hole in the hull -- just as Ben Gardner’s mutilated head suddenly appears -- is one of the greatest jump-scares of all time!

That particular rifle (M1 Garand), would have held a maximum of 8 rounds.

This is my all time favorite movie. I saw it at a drive in when I was 7 years old. The acting is amazing! The town people were very authentic for that time.
