Great suggestion on this one man

Congrats on the accomplishment!!!! Damn……

I went combat first, because crafting only really kicks in when your augments / weapons / armor is at least at level 4 (I would even argue lvl 5).
To get there you need to grind out the testing stations, and combat does help with that right from the get go,
Crafting and Sabotage was my next choice - I leveled those more or less simultaniously (not at 100 yet, but close)
The other two I will get after that, but they are not that important to me.

imho Sabo till lvl 88 so EVERY LR mission afterwards is max contribution = less missions to complete for house reward/swatch, if you're planning on doing it anyway it's a total of 1,769 missions after you get lvl 1 crafting to start, might as well make those misssion's count for LR wins ESPECIALLY if your Harko

This is one of the most torturing systems I've seen in a game. It's the sort of system that mobile games have to make you want to buy your way out of it. They need to massively increase the XP gained or make missions unlimited instead of the five a day limit.

returning og player 3v i put number 1 in crafting and then subotur to scrip, and then back combatt crafting think i stoped around 50 on both am not aiming higher did grabb the 15% from explore i would say to every one stop at aug 2 the last one have so much dr but it´s up to every one but if i played nude in most stations ore with rad suit to lvl 18 in around 10 min it´s sepaking it´s own language for pve if you aim for pvp sure go for max and it sucks it tied to the landrad 20 because people like me we whant to have shallange not face role every thing we do same thing happe nto me 2025 we stop in sep bc every thing was so damn easy and you had every thing now it´s the same i can´t go over 20 beacuse tied to stupied landrad

Is combat for everything, meaning PvP and PvE?

I think your specialization path really does depend on your personal playstyle and what kind of support network you have around you.  If you have a large guild with a 100 crafter already who is willing to craft for you and your guild pools resources to maximize output through that crafter... 100 combat is a more effective use of those specialization points.
I will also say dont discount 100 gathering so much.  While it does not impact crawler yield (it should but... I'm not going to complain too loudly) it will impact buggy yield.  At 100 crafting your compacting rivals that of a crawler, especially in PVP.  With the added bonus of not being such a large slow target like a carrier/crawler combo and the loss is much less of losing an assault vs losing a carrier/crawler combo to shai hulud.  If you're on a mostly peaceful server, instead of carrier/crawler.. consider carrier/crate with 100 gathering.  Fill your crate on the field and pick up like a crawler or if there is a nearby safe island, deposit crate on safe island, use assault to ferry spice from the field to the crate, then pick up the crate from safe island when you're done.  Your piles at 100 gathering are huge.  but you will be moving around a fair bit on the sand because your piles are so large and the radius of your compact zone is massive.  So consider combining 100 gathering with 100 exploration.  Yes this combo takes a LONG time to get to and its not the most enjoyable bunch of quests to churn through but what this combo does is 20% less threat when walking on open sand in the late LATE exploration tree.  You'll have more bag space at 100 exploration and you take less storm damage in case you get caught out.  Not a bad tree in the least just exploration takes its grand time to get there.

As a new player what id really like to know is HOW DO I EVEN UNLOCK THIS SYSTEM

Go single player do it in couple of hours

My specification is progressing very slowly. Sometimes I have to complete 4–5 tasks in a row just to level up once. Is this normal? Was it the same for you guys?

Great content…just as an fyi the gathering boost to mining does work in the buggy, so there is a benefit there

crafting might be peak but it can also be outsourced, which is once again where solo players are just at a massive disadvantage as always in this game. new players should just know they wont be doing any PVP for half a year, since the literal floor is access to 3 augs + combat 100 and sabotage at least 50 ideally also 100 (edit: oh and exploration at least 20 but that's  relatively quick)
