That was a wild sound to hear coming out of such an eclectically dressed gentleman.
Carpetman’s voice was incredibly light, but what stood out to me most was how stable it stayed. There was this back-of-the-throat lilt to the delivery where the vowels did not feel fully rounded or fully separated, and everything blended together in a really distinctive way.
What I especially liked was hearing that kind of vocal style without a bunch of obnoxious Auto-Tune layered over it. I usually associate that kind of sound with a lot more processing, so it was cool to hear what it sounds like without all the extra stuff.
His voice also sounds really versatile. Does all of Carpetman’s music live in this lane, or does he branch out and get heavier, darker, or more intense?
Also, let me know more about the visual style. I know he’s Ukrainian, and some of the patterns he wears reminded me of traditional Ukrainian textile or carpet design.
