I taught myself CNC machining and programming 45 yrs ago,best think I ever did, dangerous, but I'm still here, and can still program practically anything at any machine by hand, without any software like we did it 45 yrs ago. Lost arts are very important, I taught myself Basic programming before MS-DOS., AND THOSE SKILLS STILL WORK TODAY

Hello Maria, Mr. Electronic Engineer here. First of all, love the video, keep it up. I want to give some advice I found helpful when starting out in electronics, maybe you'll also find use for them. The fumes from soldering is actually the flux from the core of the solder wire burning, not the lead, lead only starts to boil at around 500C (still not good to breathe in those fumes, personally found that out too late). To make soldering easier melt a small amount of solder on the tip of the iron (don't clean), and then solder where you want, this "tins" the tip making it easier for the solder to flow (phrase known as "wetting"). Tip for the future when making/testing any electronics PCB, first thing to always do is check with your multimeter that power is going everywhere you need it to go, and that the voltages look right.  When you get to designing your first PCB, I would highly recommend you use KiCad, its made by CERN, it's easy to learn, its free and open source. There's not really an elegant way to get flux out of a tub, I personally like to use a toothpick, but anything works. General soldering iron things: using a wet sponge to clean the tip will thermally shock it each time you clean it, degrading tip life significantly, and also it doesn't clean very well. You're much better off using a brass wool cleaner, they're quite cheap on Amazon. A book I would highly recommend for learning electronics is "Practical Electronics for Inventors".
