For years viewers have asked me if I would ever play OMSI 2 on the channel. The truth is I've actually owned the simulator for a very long time, but every time I tried it I struggled with the confusing interface, poor performance and dated visuals.

Now things may have changed.

Today I am trying OMSI 2 for the first time on the channel using openOMSI, a free project that recreates OMSI 2 with a modern 64-bit, multithreaded engine while remaining compatible with existing maps, buses and content.

With the graphics turned up to Ultra, I head to the Yorkshire Counties 3.0 map and attempt to operate Service 8 all the way to Ingleborough Station. As this is my very first proper OMSI experience, expect plenty of mistakes, confusion, wrong buttons and the usual chaos as I simply try to get the bus moving!

Will openOMSI finally allow me to enjoy OMSI 2 after all these years?
