Watch the full movie Aarti (1962), directed by Phani Majumdar and produced by Tarachand Barjatya under Rajshri Productions, adapted from Prafulla Desai's play Sanskar Lakshmi.

Dr. Aarti Gupta is pulled from the water by an unemployed young man named Deepak, and the two fall in love — though her family has already promised her to Dr. Prakash. She marries Deepak anyway and moves into his household. But Prakash remains a friend to both families and keeps turning up, and what begins as awkwardness curdles into something that drives Aarti out of her own marriage. Then Deepak has an accident, and the only surgeon who can save him is Prakash, who names his price.

Meena Kumari in the title role with Ashok Kumar and Pradeep Kumar, and Shashikala, who won her first Filmfare Award for this film. Roshan's score with lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri produced Ab Kya Misaal Doon and Kabhi To Milegi, both still widely loved. Watch the complete film right here!
