There are studies with results that run counter to the claim that testosterone will increase the rate at which prostate cancers grow. There's also a belief in some circles that testosterone is protective and it's actually low T levels that increase the risk of developing prostate cancer. That stands to reason because prostate cancer is prevalent in older men who will naturally have a lower T level than younger men. I don't know the answer and can't comment either way except to say that things are not as cut and dry as suggested in the first two minutes of this video.

As an older man I think the most important thing you can do regarding testosterone is to get your T level checked when you're young and everything is working fine. This establishes a personal baseline. Then as you age and levels drop you have a target that is right for you. Take out the guess work.

Injecting 1 cc(200-250mg) once per week is outdated. There are tonnes of men who've switched to twice injections, three times injections, and have been able to reduce the dose and feel better. The blood work is more optimal. There are fewer spikes, there’s less peaks and valleys. Also, starting this protocol of 1cc per week and then getting labs done after 4 weeks is too soon. Just based on the half life, most men feel that 8 to 12 weeks is more accurate, as the bloods become more stable.

I'm 67. I just had my T checked. I am at 25. I also have type-2. I have hypothyroidism. I can't lose weight no matter what I do. When I was in the army at 35, I started to have weight gain problems. I was always near the burn pits over a 6 month period.
