YES!  Doom 2016 was the DEFINITION of a reboot: respecting the franchises history, still referencing the originals, and then improving just about every other detail of gameplay.

Enjoyed the vid👌🏽 keep up the good work. U wild for that ending g😭

Great video my guy, love just bingin your reviews when I have the time.

I think a lot of it boils down to upper management leaving the devs the hell (heh) alone to do their jobs. Most devs are gamers and they fully understand what makes games fun. It’s a real problem especially in the larger companies where people who just don’t get it love to get involved and mess up the process. More trust needs to be put on the lead designers and developers, leave them alone, let them make great games.

Rip & Tear!

I was with you up until you said 2016 was almost 7 years ago.

That hurt like hell. Time sure flies.

doom eternal is excellent, i love zipping around with the SSG meathook and 1 tapping demons! absolutely poggers!!

My God how did I miss this upload? Thankfully YouTube recommended it on the playback! and it coincided with me replaying DOOM and DOOM Eternal this past 3 weeks!
(For me personally DOOM Eternal is the peak of FPS so far)

Ok I love the direction doom is going but I suck ass at it, but at the same time I can do it later on 🗿

Kinda unrelated, but I honestly prefer Doom Eternal’s aesthetic to 2016’s. Most of the Doom community seems to prefer the dark, mature, and scary atmosphere in 2016’s, whereas I honestly love the ridiculous comic-book style, 90’s video gamey look, and the insane gore of Eternal. I hope we at least get a mixture of the 2 in the next game, because I do love both atmospheres, I just like Eternal’s a little bit more. The only criticism I have for Eternal’s aesthetic and artstyle is the Revenant, which took a huge downgrade in looks. Overall, I love the look of Eternal. It feels like Doom.

I stand by the belief that the two recent DOOM games are the best first person shooters ever made, at least mechanically.  Perhaps a bit hyperbolic, but I stand by it.  Doom 2016 had no business being as good as it was, and then somehow Eternal was even better.  These were my two favorite games of the last decade, and I find that it will be very hard to surpass the bar set by these games.

DOOM (2016) just knocks it out of the park with it's glory kills, Weapons and of course the metal soundtrack i love this game and it feel like a DOOM Game!

pog video

I hate Doom 2016, it was a lame rehash of the superior Doom 3 with worse graphics, and the combat was not consistent and fluid throughout, but broken up into those stupid "arena" areas with the little glowing balls you had to rip out to initiate combat, and couldn't proceed until you'd wiped out all the monsters in that "arena". That was LAME, and it felt too much like a crappy console game.

But doom isn’t a reboot

Doom 2016 and eternal aren't reboots, remakes or remasters, they're a continuation of the original doom. So no its not a perfect reboot.

I think Wolfenstein and Doom are sharing the top spot together.
