Don’t know if anyone else is seeing this, but this analog horror seems to be using the TRYRED forest as a metaphor for suicide on a global scale. Someone “disappearing” every 40 seconds is similar to the statistic of someone committing suicide every 40 secs. Along with the other more obvious hints.

Wowman: "Skip 20 secs ahead, the image ahead is quite disturbing and I had a hard time looking at it myself"
Also Wowman: puts it in the thumbnail

i can understand the "stay where you last saw them" line, as your child could be fine and might come back, only to not be able to find you. its like the advice given to kids when they get lost

As someone who actually "self damages" in real life, via that same method, I'd like to point out that "Rinse, Wash and Repeat" is a healthy follow-up to the act, so long as you aren't trying to "Unalive" yourself.

Side note, please don't "self damage." From firsthand experience, it's an addiction, and not a fate I'd wish on my worst enemy.

“Just know this series is pretty dark so watch it during the day time”
- me alone in my dark room at 2:00am: “this is fine”

7:46 if you don't want to go and find the part, basically the puppet is telling kids to cut themselves and possibly commit suicide

I'm convinced they used the obunga image for the second guy at 2:55

Just wanted to point out that the gas mask at 3:43 is a M9 Field Protective mask, created by the United States Military. It was phased out after 1995, although law enforcement and civilians still used it afterwards.

The every 40 seconds kidnapping thing really took me out of it tbh

@kiarasessyoin 4 years ago

Wondering if this is somewhat related / inspired by early slenderman args? The crossed circle used to be known as the "operator symbol" back in the day, used on marble hornets mostly. Together with the masks

Thank you SO MUCH for covering this series!

TRYRED WITNESS ARCHIVES is so damn underrated, and it's a shame too, because their analog horror series is of high quality.

I'm sure there's many series out there, whether digital or analog horror, that are as good as well, but don't get enough attention unfortunately.

You guys. This series is clearly an analogy for suicide. 40 seconds. The "cut long ways" thing. Pretty easy to grasp, at least for me.

If someone were to go missing once every forty seconds for four months straight that's over 250,000 people missing. Crazy.

My house is surrounded by forest on almost all sides, I have made a terrible decision

I came across this on the Walten Files subreddit, and I fell in love with it instantly.

It's just that good.

Something strikes me about the "F.C.K.Q.D" Rule, normally extra words in one of the items of an initialism (unless It's meant to be an acronym) wouldn't be mentioned in the initial form... So, dare I say, this rule is quite F.C.K.D.?

The distorted image of the black security guard looks like obunga lol

You should cover malediction chapter 1, its not an analog horror or anything but it’s an interactive game on YouTube where you can make choices and stuff. Really cool and I’m recommending it because it’s by the creator of the macabre experiment

18:45 I was actually thinking that the person screaming was Jake Garcia. This is based on how Jake and Alex both have the same last name, possible being brother and sister, and the close captioning for Jake says he was “too curious” possibly because he was trying to find Alex
