The thing wade is talking about with normalization of death and tragedy- it has a name! Compassion fatigue!

Finally, it’s my turn to comment about how I’m staying up late to watch Distractible despite working in the morning

"I just couldn't pull it out" - Mark, 2026

On the gambling thing, I remember seeing someone make a comment on how they’ve (gambling cooperations) gotten so much money from men and drained them that they’re now targeting women. There’s a lot more “you can gamble on anything even that reality tv show that you enjoy” and so many kids toys are blind boxes. It’s disturbing

24:30 Bob, if you are questioning if you are doing a good job, then you are doing a good job.  Do you think horrible parents think about that or dwell on that?  No, they either think they are doing good or they just don't care.  As a parent you should never just be in a place where you think you're doing great.  Question yourself and it will help you make the better decisions.

Whole episode:
YOU CLOSE?! YOU CLOSE!? YOU CLOSE!?
To tears I mean

Perks of working overnight
I get to watch right when it comes out

Im distracting it so hard right now

When my son was 0-2 years old we couldn't afford to send him to daycare so I worked full time and took care of him at the same time.  I couldn't dedicate my whole day to teaching him things and interacting with him like I should have as a stay at home mom.  I still feel guilty to this day how much screen time he had and how much he had to self entertain... but he's 12 now and rarely gets below a B in school; he plays baseball, has several friends, and never gotten in serious trouble... I guess I did something right.  It's awful how much pressure social media puts on parents when really... everyone just does the best they can and hopes it's good enough.

People paying for premium to skip the ridge ad read crack me up. Premium doesn't stop a filmed, in video ad read. That's not a yt ad, that's the guys doing an ad. Nothing premium can do about that. Still gotta skip forward

The bots thing is concerning with how often I see them pop up online just to start arguments or spread hate/misinformation.

At long last, i have finally caught up on Distractible episodes. The wheel spins can once again be a mystery.

1 death is a tragedy, 1000 is a statistic

Bob talking about his grandma definitely brought up some memories of my grandma. Of course my grandma didn’t pass from alzheimer’s but she was life of the family. She was the glue that held everyone together. She was streets the prison you’d go to when you were happy, sad, excited or scared. No matter what, she would always make you feel amazing. She was the strongest person I met and when anyone in my life is feeling down, I try to remember to be like her and always be there for them. Thank you nana for inspiring me to be the best man I could be. Thank you guys for your amazing content and this amazing community. Y’all are great!

Mark 100% said sponsored by GoPro. His mouth was too big for the blurring to work correctly hahahaha

Alright I'm driving (check)

34:52 this ⬆️ exactly what Wade said, we lose track of the meaning of human lose because big numbers aren't really comprehensible. "1,000 people died" that's terrible but I don't know 1,000 people right now. I can't imagine what that even looks like. It doesn't take the empathy away but it definitely dims it. Having access to the whole world and everyone makes it difficult for our brains to comprehend or even care. It's scary and sad.

Babe wake up distractible just dropped

I can't believe they turned Wade into Guam...

I ignore and avoid dwelling on the news because my anxiety-depression-ocd-dysphoria riddled brain simply cannot both give every bad thing the attention it deserves AND also keep me alive at the same time. I'm also a hyper-empathetic person so if I let myself fall into the hole of feeling bad about everything that's happening, it'll kinda immediately destroy me.
