So a study video helped me learn about my disease. That's why I like these. I have had a quiet voice since childhood since in my head my voice would be painfully loud if I ever spoke at normal levels. After worsening my hearing through exposure to vibrations and greater volume not that loud to most people, the volume of my voice reverberating through my head is less achingly loud. I had no idea a person who spoke quietly could suffer from hearing loss.
I also find sudden noises sharp on my head, so I have disliked watching movies with people; alone I turn the volume down. Maybe my skull near my ears are sensitive to outside noise and noises that make it through do not dissipate nicely. The way it goes, the ear I have otosclerosis in is more sensitive to noise and feels sudden noises harshly. Before losing some of my hearing, I would jump at noises and coworkers would come and clap to jolt me, then I would get spooked from moving suddenly. While losing my hearing with age takes the edge off, I still wear ear plugs when I am in situations that noise would be grating on that ear with otosclerosis, like moving furniture or driving because of car noises and honking. In the ear with otosclerosis, I hear better is what I notice.

Great video and very informative and helpful, I would just like to mention that the units for levels of loudness are measured in dBHL not dB which is a slightly different scale but the main information stands.
