Ron's desire to win the Cup and be head boy was really his desire to not be overlooked. He's the youngest of six brothers and feels he has a lot to live up to, and even if he succeeds, it doesn't matter as much because his brothers did it first. He's insecure about being valued

RIP to the actors and actresses who played their characters 🕊️

I was about to say "didnt yall react to this already" 😂

We actually had two examples in the books where catching the Snitch ended the Game but the other team still won.

The Sorting Hat describes the core traits of each Hogwarts house in its songs and through the values of the school's founders:
• Gryffindor: Home to the brave at heart, where daring, nerve, and chivalry set students apart.
• Hufflepuff: Home to the just and loyal, where students are patient, true, and unafraid of toil (hard work).
• Ravenclaw: Home to the wise and ready-minded, where those of wit and learning always find their kind.
• Slytherin: Home to those who make real friends through ambition and cunning, using any means to achieve their ends

So the idea behind muggles not seeing magic is that their so caught up in their regular boring adult lives they dont notice the whimsy and the magic in their lives therefore they dont see shit when it comes to magic and wizards.

Just to respond to one of your questions, the other 2 houses being happy for the change of decor in the end, you will need the context from the book. Slytherin house won the House cup the last 7 years in a row. You see how they play quidditch, and Snape is taking points from other houses very often for the minor things in the books. Snape is clearly favoring his house a lot, and you don't see the other professors doing the same, in the books. One of the attributes of Slytherins is ambition, so  they will do whatever they can to win. BTW even the quidditch results impact the House cup.

I love that it was Quirrel's plan to let the troll into the school, announce that there is a troll, pass out and then rely on no one to take care of him!!!!!

And yeah, Quidditch is not fully explained in the movies, which leads to many (who's not read the books) think that nothing but catching the Snitch matters!
When you catch the snitch the game ends, but it's also worth 150 points, so if your team is so far back in points & you catch the snitch it might still lead you to lose cuz those 150 points won’t be enough! So you need to time when you catch the snitch with your teams points to win! 🙂

This is seriously my absolute comfort franchise (along with Narnia), they literally shaped me, as someone who's always been obsessed with fantasy! ✨

1:09:04 my headmaster in primary school was such a beloved wise badass. When HP came out, we often compared him to Dumbledore. He was a legend and is sorely missed

Idk if this is weird to say but I would feel safe in a room with these two. Might lowk be wild ass conversations but I'll never feel like something bad is gonna happen to me.

woohoo!! so excited you guys are rewatching these for the spooky season!

34:35 The thing that Neville forgot in the remembrall scene was his robe. If you watch the scene again, everyone else is wearing a robe, but Neville is wearing a vest.

In American English is called Sorcerer’s Stone and the British version calls it Philosopher’s Stone :)

I love that you guys are revisiting some movies!

I’m glad to see you both have empathy about Harry’s early childhood “family” conditions with the Dursley’s. Gives me a little more hope about young men today.

Harry Potter not only looks exactly like his dad but also the magical community is a very close knit one. Everyone knows everyone and everyone is expecting him to show up this school year

Talking about funny gifts reminded me of this one Christmas, my younger brother gave my other brother a beautifully wrapped gift. It was a nice little handmade box, and in it was a note that read 'You still owe me 5 euros' 🤣to which he then added 'Oh, and I'm gonna need the box back too'. We were all dying😂😂
