I have been corrected in the comments: Page 6 in the NY Times is the celebrity gossip column. The wedding section isn't on page 6, it's in a different section. So, Natasha and Big had a wedding announcement in the NY Times and Carrie and Big had their "announcement" in the Vogue feature.

Carrie marrying Big after he left at the isle was weak and awful.

Notice how there was no real proposal for Carrie. It was just "I wouldn't mind being married to you. Would you mind being married to me?" It was as bad as Charlotte proposing to Trey.

She shouldn't have taken him back after he left her at the altar. It would have been the perfect ending to the movie and for the series if Carrie was finally able to evolve and and decide for herself that being single really is better than being with a man that is embarrassed to marry her.

It's not only being alone, but being poor that really scared her.

Carrie is a fool...Natasha was in his WILL well after their divorce.

Big has always been ashamed of Carrie.

Big wasn’t scared of getting divorced for the third time. The wedding to Carrie was in his eyes TACKY and he hated how it made him look

My main issue with her getting back together with Big is that in the six months appart he didn't fought for her. We didn't see him devastated like she was, it's like he didn't really suffer like she did so her forgiveness felt unearned

I'll never understand how Carrie wanted to marry Big after he cheated on his wife with her.

One of the things you got wrong that also shows the difference. Natasha's and Big wedding was announced in the wedding section. Page 6 was the gossip section of the New York times

I also like to note the thing about Carrie claiming Miranda ruined her wedding over her comment to big. Big never once indicated he gave a damn about Carrie's friends and opinions, and he clearly jumped on the comment as a way to throw off responsibility for something he clearly decided to do a long time ago, which he didn't even need because Carrie was blaming herself before she learned about Miranda's comment. It's just another instance of how the SATC writers like to kick Miranda in the teeth for not being stereotypically feminine and immediately, happily folding to all the terrible things her asshole boyfriend/husband did to her.

Whenever Carrie wanted Big, he ghosted her, whenever she put boundaries and broke up with him, he came back chasing her, ruining her chance of any other and better relationship. It seems that Big leaving Carrie at the alter is exactly the same cycle: she wanted more than he so he left her.

Big clearly cared a lot about his image, and put effort into hiding Carrie because he thought she was bad for it.  At the same time, he clearly did not care about protecting her image.  Selfish and contemptuous behavior.

I think Barbara was someone who knew Big as a child/teen/young adult. That’s why they remain friends after divorce and I think they move in the same social circles so they talk regularly.

It has always DEEPLY upset me the 'I don't live here anymore ' speech wasn't their final one of the series. She easily should've called the girls to meet her when she got back to new york instead: it reinforces the friend soulmate speech and would've mirrored that season's commercial.

THEN the original movie should've been him chasing her the whole time. With years between them she could see him clearly and bluntly tell him she's unsure. Maybe then he runs into Charlotte again and when the girls get to the hospital with Harry there he is in the waiting room, all rumpled because he 'didn't want Charlotte to be there alone'. Everyone, including Carrie, could see growth in him and the movie could end on her agreeing to a date finally, with the narration leaving it ambiguous as to if it's a one off or not. And maybe movie 2 having them casual still? So the whole Aiden thing isn't such a violation. By the end, when she's home,  they officially decide to make it a serious relationship.

But that's just me spitballing IDK

At the point of their wedding, Carrie is an international bestselling author, she's a contributing writer to the #1 fashion magazine in the world (Vogue), her as a bride was featured as a cover story for Vogue, and she was wearing a Vivienne Westwood bridal gown. The designer or the magazine would have contacted Page Six to promote her wedding - this would be a basic task for a publicist.

Wow, I'm so impressed that fans could actually read the article if you blow it up/zoom in! That's paying attention to detail!

Big didn’t even like Carrie.  They were a horrible couple. And Carrie was horrible to her friends.

Big and Carrie were never meant to be . He kept her around because he knew he could and she was pathetic for falling for the traps every single time. The only reason why she was able to do that cathartic yelling at him at the end of season six was because she had Alecsander. She never grew up. Never grew out of the insecurities. She got even worse in the reboot and stalked Natasha again at 55+ years old. Her character sucks!
