The Transformer Energon Universe bursts into the Studio Series collection with Optimus Prime, sporting the arm of his nemesis, Megatron. Along with the fusion cannon. Is this version of G1 Optimus the most dangerous version of the Autobot Leader yet? Captain Kyle reviews this figure to see if he could find his way into your collection.

The Skybound Energon Universe doesn’t hold back when it comes to some of the most vicious plotlines ever. To borrow a phrase, “This is NOT your father’s Autobot.” Optimus Prime, after being severely damaged in a battle, takes the arm of the Decepticon leader Megatron to replace his own, which makes him even more powerful. This Studio Series version represents this Energon Universe storyline with a toy that is fully transformable, but replaces Optimus Prime’s arm with Megatron’s… sort of. While it’s actually a remold and recolor of the original arm, with the addition of the fusion cannon, this Optimus may be the best one yet.
