I laid all my guns on the table and asked my son to pick one out. I had a H&R single shot break down in the bunch. He asked if the 410 was the one in the picture of him, the time he shot his first gun, and I said " yes." He said that was the one he wanted. The H&R was a $53, gun. I pointed out that was a cheap gun , but a good gun. The .410 was laying right beside a $2000. Wetherby 7 mm magnum. He chose his memories over money. So proud of him!

You cannot own too many single shot firearms...the simplicity and reliability set the standard, whether a shotgun or rifle...

I inherited one of these from my great great grandfather.

I love 410's childhood memories.own 2 today

I had the .410, my brother had the .20gauge and dad had the .12.

A break top 20 or .410 and some variety of cheap 22 rifle have a place in almost any household. Easy to maintain, cheap and fun to use, just can’t beat them

Thanks for featuring the most important firearm style for many of my age and older. My first personal gun was a Savage Stevens 94 20ga FC. It accounted for entirely too many dead flying and running critters. Still have it and my love has not dimmed. Also your first gun reminded me of all the rabbits squirrels and quail I terrorized with a couple Savage 412s belonging to my uncle. (Who also gifted me the 94) 😊

I had a Stevens Single Barrel 16ga Shotgun.  It was old enough it didn't have a model number, as I remember.  Bought it used in 1957 for $13.

That is not a Stevens model 940 that is a Stevens model 94C

Another great piece of history! Great friends always make it more fun! 👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸

Nothing beats a good single barrel shotgun. Thanks for the video and your thoughts.

I love my rifled slug gun, with Hornady sabots it's accurate out to 200 yards, at $2.50 per round.

Yes Sir, great video, thank you! I've got an $80 Stevens 94 in .410 that I bought for a fatm gun; it was cheap because the batrel was badly bent; bending it straight using the 2"x2" opening on my wife's trailer hitch was easy; she shoots great. These are delightful littke shotguns. Thanks again. Blessings to you.

Thank you for talking about a 410 for hunting turkey. I feel the same way about the 410 caliber. I feel it is a 25-30 yard shotgun.🇺🇸😎✌🏻🙏🏽

I think 410 is popular as ever !The  firearm industry has control issues.

I have a Model 94C .410 just like that I got for my birthday I think when I was in the 4th grade. I have a 20 gauge Model 94P I bought at our local pawn shop. I have killed several ground hogs with it and it's my knockabout shotgun. I love Stevens shotguns.

All day long, any quality single shot for less than a hundred is a good deal. I love finding 20 gauges cheap....😊 As long as it can handle modern loads.

I have the 940A in 410 bore. It's basically the same gun except it has side lever release. I traded a 32 H&R mag revolver for it and a Remington .22 semi auto about 30 year ago. Mine was made before serial number requirements. I used to have the 94 in 12 ga. but I sold it in the mid 80's...wish I had it back. I've had far more H&R's over the years and still have a few including the Chinese Stevens version. IDK why, but I've always had a fascination with SS guns.

I recently passed on the same model for the same price. I wanted  it but i have several .410 singles already. Still thinking about it. My favorite single is a 16g stamped eastern arms company. Which im nearly certain was made by Stevens. Its a 94 B. It appears to have been made before 1949. The stock is a little beat up. The barrel has reached that worn plumb color  and the receiver is a dull gray. Its has an oversized bead which i have found to be very fast on ruffed grouse. It throws slugs well to. Anyway, i pulled it out to test weather the forend can be attached to the barrel alone. You are correct. It cannot. Enjoy that .410

I have a .410 NEF. Also full choke.
