2.5 smartstream GDI/MPI naturally aspirated engine paired with an 8 speed automatic transmission to me is the best engine reliable and lease complicated. It was why I bought my 2024 kia sportage x line new. It now has 43,000 miles and has had it's oil changed every 5000 miles. Transmission fluid and transfer case will be changed at 48,000 miles
Still rocking my 05 Santa fe LX with the 3.5L V6 and 5 speed auto. 220k miles and only had to do basic maintenance over the 2 years I've owned it. Super fun to drive and extremely dependable.
I bought a new 2021 Kia K5 GT LINE with the premium package. 1.6L Turbo and 8 speed automatic. I'm 5 years in and 56.000 miles, and the car has been flawless with 0 issues. I do 3000 mile oil changes with Castrol Edge. It uses no oil. The engine sounds and runs like new. I had the transmission fluid exchanged at 40.000 miles. I intend to keep the car very long term, if not indefinitely. I live in Southern California, so rust and corrosion issues are none existant.I retired 2 years ago. I was driving a little over 20.000 miles a year.. but now averaging about 7, 8, thousand miles a year. I have heard good things about both this engine and transmission. I just hope it's true. I really like the vehicle, comfortable, drives very well, nice looking. Great freeway cruiser. 😊
Ok ok I bought a 2021 tuson .I changed oil at 1500 then 2000 then every about 2800 to 3000. Only drive for 6 months. Hung up in winter in wisconsin. Only been in rain 5 times. Just changed tranny at 30. Thousand miles. We have 50/ 50 town and highway. Dont push hard from start Doesn't use any oil our new car for retirement. After hearing about all others out there it's a crap shoot. Am I just lucky or what
KIA/Hyundai from 2011 to 2015 was a Cinderella story. I blame all the fired German engineers they acquired after the infamous diesel ECM fiasco... -If you were paying attention..thats wgen ALL the production problems surfaced. -Its also when all the stupid PLASTIC everything surfaced. Also...all you need to do to keep your valves pristine is install a dual OCC loop pre PCV. In this Occ you manually install once a month a mix of VM&P napatha and TECHRON...mixed ...VOILA...baby ass valves. ** must keep a 5k or less oil interval.
As long as that 2.5l turbo is not paired with their Dual clutch then the car is solid so 2026 and up for Hyundai. The 1.6t with the regular transmission also solid for the most part as long as the electronics inside the vehicle behave
PS .....I own and built a 2013. GENESIS COUPE with 1,350 hp at the crank...1,035 whp dyno d. -It is pure -methanol and 2% Hydrogen injection. *** It also has the dual OCC system...and I use a 3 K oil schedule.
dumb 50+ people can believe this ai video guys, hyundai changed a lot if you dont want to get hyundai you can get junk japanese cars with no feature overpriced this is your desicion
WRONG!!!! 2022 Tucson N Line... engine failure at 85000 miles. After the small block replacement, transmission failure!!!!! All oil changes done so my warranty covered. Cats replaced twice. All sorts of things wrong!!!!! They are still shit
