I am no Joe Rogan fan but, it didn't seem like anyone got "destroyed" here but instead a simple, honest, thoughtful conversation

What he means is that there is nothing to keep the universe as a 4 dimensional structure so it kind of forgets how big it is, and therefore there is no distance, and everything is back to one and it restarts.

When Brian says we have glimpses he means glimpses backed with hundreds if not thousands of peer reviewed scientific papers versus an old book written by people who knew next to nothing.

“The Universe Itselt is God” very profound statement Joe and very true. Don’t think that a lot of people before you hadn’t thought the very same thing - because they did, a long time ago even. Like five thousand ago, that far back is when it was first written down. I have a two volume text of over 1,000 pages that explains it all but you said so beautifully.

Damn Joe’s eyeballs are about to pop out while explaining the universe, and then Brian calmly comes along and breaks it down.😂

Imagine explaining this much about the universe to the guy who has way more answers about the universe

Conformal expansion makes complete sense since distance, size, time are only relative variables that define the universe bc of the relationships among them. Density itself is only relative, so in the absence of constraining relationships, spontaneous expansion is entirely plausible

Sufficiently Mind  Bending, thanks :person-turqouise-waving:

Interesting and addictively so. More. 🌴🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸🌴

Nothing can come out of nothing. Explain how there's a beginning, without a creator, a designer.

Science is an ongoing learning of what we can back up with facts, not a belief. Every theory is open to peer review and rebuttal. The hope, I think, is that we get closer to answers and not assume we already know.

When Joe Rogan says he's been thinking about something A LOT - it's relative to his understanding of "thinking" and "a lot" - which is in fact very little

It’s always amazing to me how the idea of a creator is downplayed without any rational reason but also in a way where the person thinks they see something more spectacular than the universe being created. But in fact all they’re marveling at is the vastness of the universe and time and space. The problem is that their concocted notion of the creator is too small. Probably because the creator, God has interacted so closely with us in history. I guess it’s hard to imagine a being could be so personal while also being of such unimaginable greatness. That is precisely why people who spend time dwelling on God become so in awe and reverent/fearful. They understand that asymmetry: an unimaginably infinite being who created all things bigger than we can see and measure, cares for the tiny individual on earth. In fact, it seems that everything was created just so that we could be here.

The characters in the book can’t comprehend the author.

Brian Cox is explaining very well. Even "I" almost understand a little of what he is talking about...

"somebody already beat me to it" - try Spinoza :)

We have asigned God to what we don't understand for the entire human existence, yet we always moved the bar as soon as we understood it. No one thinks the sun is god anymore, but at some point, we would have died for it.

I've always thought the Universe was God. And perhaps space is like a balloon, and expands until it bursts (Big Bang) and then it starts all over again creating a new Universe in an infinite cycle.

awesome thoughts from Brian. thinking about a beginning of the Universe is not as easy as people think. for example God is thought as timless no beginning no end, but they have no idea how time works.

God the greatest weakness is video camera, he disappeared as soon as we made them 😂
