Imagine wanting to find the men that saved your life 45 years ago. Never giving up the chance to say thank you. Amazing

That is a hug of men who have survived something that no one who wasn't there will ever be able to comprehend.

What a sad yet sweet feel good story. The way he chased down the American reporters to get his message out. He was just desperate to say “thank you” while there was still time.

Remember when journalists used to cover amazing/heartfelt stories like this?

All these men are gone now. There are very few WWII vets left. It's good to revisit these stories. War is absolutely awful.

I found this interesting comment regarding some more info: "The video left out one part. There was a German guard who discovered the plot early on, but turned a blind eye to it. When the plot was discovered he was immediately executed. The dentist wrote a letter to the guard's family after the war and they sent back a portrait of the guard. The dentist gave the portrait to the journalist so he could report to Americans that "Corporal Alfred Jung was an exceptional member of the human race"."

To think a story that started 80 years ago still has so much power behind it.

Kind reminder to the younger people: THIS is what actual journalism looks like.

This made me cry. These men were the age of grandfathers, and seeing them cry in public was incredibly powerful.

That Russian dentist feels like a force of nature. So determined, so genuine, so real. I imagine all his patients were in very good hands. What a story of very brave men, all of them!
