I love that their story isn't an "I can fix him" story, it's a "I want to be better for her" story. Like, she legit loved Rigby for who he is and that inspired him to grow tf up.

As a raccoon myself, I feel like Rigby had a true turn-around after the time skip. He seems genuinely happy with Eileen and I'm very happy.

Eileen loved Rigby as he was! She wasn't trying to change him. She just supported him in his Rigby(ness). He naturally wanted to be better for her. That's real love, it improves you.

Eileen is such a unique take on the quirky girl and I really appreciate how her character is written

A relationship that's about being with the other person, not about posting social media statuses and trying to prove to everyone that you're succeeding at life because you're in a relationship.

Eileen had her life so put together she had time to fix Rigby.

Rigby and Eileen are disturbingly close to how I and my partner are. We've known each other since highschool, but I dropped out of college. She got her degree in education. She's quietly waited for over a decade, not really interested in anyone else. And while I was quietly interested in her... I was afraid to hurt her. I was a raging asshole from highschool and into my early 30's. Hurt a lot of people, did a lot of damage. But we'd periodically stay in touch, me mostly being an asshole... but her just staying kind. I apparently was one of the only people who were nice to her back then. I took her out on a whim one day... don't even know why I had the impulse to do it. Went to breakfast, and very much enjoyed myself. Felt really natural. She at one point grabbed my hand and flat out said "I need you to do me a favor, stop protecting me from yourself". In that moment... I immediately shut down for a second and realized... I really was.  I was trying to protect the one I cared about most from myself. But in reality, that was enough to not need to do so. We're still together after three years, and I'm crawling my way up the corporate ladder so I can finally get my own place.

High school me was Mordecai. Obsessed with getting into a relationship and never quite getting there. Rigby is current me where it doesn't matter to me quite so much. Like I would still like to, but it's not all-consuming anymore.

I think this is a good example of patient love, when it builds over time no drama, no judgement, and things unfold naturally at their own pace.

In highschool and college, I was often like Mordecai, constantly obsessing over a girl I had a crush on, and always chasing the perfect romantic moment. After I met my current girlfriend now in my late 20s, we just kind of vibe with each other, no big fancy dinners, or flashy proclamations of love, just casual stuff like picnics, playing video games, and we encourage each other to become better versions of ourselves, our relationship's not flashy and have found that we actually like it that way.

The camping episode was NOT the first time..... Mordecai made a comment about how women try to get your attention and Rigby looked in Eileen's direction........that was the first time he caught it!!!

The kiss on the cheek was actually so cute 😭
